  1. A couple of years ago my daughter thought she was slick one night and raised it to 68. My wife stepped right up and put her in her place. I was so proud of her that night. Until morning, when I realized my wife adjusted it to 70. This is why I paid off the house as fast as possible.
  2. You raised the kiddo well - that is the year-round setting in my home. Embrace comfort!
  3. You know how much it pains me to be the one associated with the word heat...
  4. I'm guessing the overnight lows have reversed the negative departure more so than the highs, but that's just perception on my part.
  5. Temperatures have been acting..."odd" lately. Multiple evenings over the past couple of weeks that the temp has been rising well after dark, and yet days under full sun when the temp barely budges. I'll gladly send the heat up the hill on 743 north to Etown.
  6. My prediction for the week was a fail - I thought I'd reach 90 at least twice this week...hopefully it doesn't happen at all. Yesterday's high was 88. Sitting at 77 now.
  7. An hour after posting this reading, it's now 77.6...
  8. At 3:20pm, my personal Ambient Station is reading 87.4/73.2.
  9. I'm setting up my backup station on the tarmac overnight tonight. I'll get to the bottom of these readings...
  10. Thanks. I assumed that the negative departure had been eroded but wasn't sure exactly how far it had reversed. Lots of weather left!
  11. Where does MDT stand currently with respect to normal for the month?
  12. I'm already at 85 (85.2) heading for at least the upper 80s.
  13. Riveting for sure - anxious to see what our micro climate can spit out today...
  14. Ended up getting down to 65 overnight which surprised me - I was thinking I'd post another 70 degree low. Must have gotten some cooling from the storms that passed by to my NE.
  15. High today was 86, it's 77 at 8:25pm. About the same as last night, though even more humid.
  16. It would have been interesting to see how hot it would have gotten if not for the hour or so of cloudiness...station is up to 85.8 now and still rising...
  17. We...are an awesome group. What other region can have multiple pages to discuss a partly cloudy, warm and humid day in mid-September? We got Bubbler breaking down cloud cover by county sections. We got PaWeather giving rainfall amounts for areas 1500 miles from here. We got the trainer talking about freaking sprinkles. Throw in some obs from Cash and the Candyman, and we got 'er covered. We get all serious about all forms of weather!
  18. It started dropping immediately with the onset of the cloud deck. Breeze has stiffened...pretty remarkable change in the weather that happened quickly.
  19. In 30 minutes time the sky has gone from clear (with haze) to nearly 100% overcast...in fact, it was sprinkling a few minutes ago. My temp is down to 78.8
  20. It's intriguing to me as well - you would not think of my area as a heat island in any way whatsoever...not sure why this has been happening repeatedly. Nut just posted an 80 in Elizabethtown - much more urban area than mine, just a few miles up the road, and yet somewhat significantly cooler. E-town is at a higher elevation, but not THAT much.
  21. The 84 on that map...is literally 1 mile down the road from me. 84.4 here now...was 83.7 when I last reported the 84 reading.
