  1. Euro looks like it wants to take Debbie's slug of rain to Pittsburgh.
  2. Cells are now forming well in advance of the front - pretty good one in Cumberland county.
  3. Correct - I'm not a fan of severe whatsoever. I'm riding the 30% wind line for later today.
  4. If trends hold, today's event may be the "big show" compared to the remnants of Debbie - 2-5" of rain later today/tonight followed by 1-2" on Friday.
  5. MU Weather Center 1/2 Rain from #TropicalStormDebby will impact northern MD, southeastern PA and the Lower Susquehanna Valley late this week. There is still uncertainty surrounding its track and the timing of heaviest rainfall, but the trend has been faster and farther west since yesterday. 2/2 Most models now show the highest rainfall amounts across the Appalachians in areas north/west of I-78/81. I still expect an additional 1-2" of rain across the region from Thursday night through Friday night, but 2-5" amounts *MAY* remain farther north/west..
  6. Correct - several days where I've reached either 90 or 91 while MU came in at 88-89.
  7. Just snagged a 90 degree reading at 11:10am. 7th day in a row, and the 32nd day this year with at least a 90 degree reading. Not going to see another one for the foreseeable future. Last year's final total was 25 days.
  8. I was directly under it to the tune of 15.11" for the event. It rained as hard as it can possibly rain and did so for hours. I started to wonder if and when it actually would stop. Fortunately for me, I had no water issues in my home. For that I was very grateful. Peter didn't Sink far enough last night...
  9. Bingo. The impacts from Lee were enhanced by heavy rains that fell prior to Lee's arrival. Here's a full radar loop of the entire evolution of the frontal boundary and then Lee's arrival afterwards. That firehose that set up from VA up through the LSV and north...never saw anything like it. It just kept training. This is easily one of the most fascinating radar loops I've seen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqNzu0myoXI
  10. WPC's morning map - most of the 7" contour was removed; however, the 5+" area was expanded:
  11. It feels like one of the most oppressive mornings of the year - it's 81 at 8:30am. What looked like might be a struggle to reach 3 consecutive days of 90 degree temps looks to now easily reach 7 straight days.
  12. I thought my sarcasm was blatantly obvious. But yes...go with the lowest map possible and subtract the rest.
  13. Just be glad that TCC came along to impart some information on the geography of your area. Obviously he would know your area better than you do.
  14. Hot off the presses - MU says "give me the ICON solution": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zCxeB4lslo
  15. 88 at 12:30. Should reach the 90s but I honestly thought I'd be there at this point.
  16. Given the forecast for at least the next 7 days, I wouldn't be surprised with that either. He's got us lined up for a 74 on Wednesday and 76 on Thursday. Bring it. (he does extend the Lanco 90 degree streak to 7 days tomorrow, however)
  17. It's only August 5th but MU is taking the "L" for the month already: (kudos to him for not trying to back-peddle his Summer 2024 forecast) MU Weather Center @MUweather So much for a hot, dry #August.. that forecast from late May isn't going to work out, especially the "dry" part. Tropics were and will continue to be the wildcard from August through October.
  18. Huh. I was just a hair over 30". No slants in my stick, either. Stay classy, people...
  19. If I could send it north to you, I would. I want no part of it, honestly. When Lee came through in 2011 and again from a freak flood event several years ago, I saw too many neighbors down the road from me in town lose a whole lot of personal property from 6' of water in their basements. Yards were full of destroyed furniture and other belongings waiting to be removed. That hit too close to home and was another reminder that I just can't "root" for potentially destructive weather. I'm NOT calling you out - I do understand the spirit of what you're saying. You want newsworthy weather...I get it.
  20. I measured 3.8". That's about 50% of that map. I clearly asked for a good snow map. Oh wait...no such thing exists.
  21. Perusing various sub forums this morning gives off very much a winter-time vibe...a whole lot of precip maps getting hoisted. Makes me yearn for a good snow map.
  22. I feel like there's a lot of that type of sentiment from those living close to the big pond. "We're not going anywhere" is a refrain sung by a lot of quoir members on the coast.
