  1. I was impressed with the winds here during the late afternoon and evening hours - the rain was blowing sideways in sheets. That surprised me too.
  2. I think the rainfall was pretty well predicted overall - to me, a bit of a surprise was the apparent strength of some of the tornadic activity. Some very sad images coming out of neighboring states, particularly from New Jersey.
  3. Also - I actually added a wee bit of water to my previously reported tally last evening. Final total was 7.13" here in the historic district.
  4. Can 2 consecutive days be any different weather wise?
  5. As @Bubbler86noted a while ago, a nice band has rolled through this area to give our totals a boost. Not that it was needed.
  6. 7.04" here and still raining moderately in wind-driven sheets.
  7. lol, I posted when you did. Rain has lightened considerably over the past 45 minutes. We'll see what happens.
  8. Going to be close if I reach the 7" mark...sitting at 6.73" with not a lot of precip left.
  9. I received 9.71" on 9/7/2011. If it rained here for 24 hours today, I think we'd definitely rival that.
  10. Maybe! Every time it lets up, it comes right back to moderate-heavy intensity.
  11. Thinking 7" here is quite possible at this point - 6.16" now.
  12. I'm watching that band - if it moves over me, not sure what to think. I'm at 5.51" now and that band alone could add an inch or two more. I'll be over 6" regardless before it gets here.
  13. Yes indeed it was. This can stop at any time now...really...water is ponding everywhere. Already up to 5.10" and adding up quickly.
  14. It took 45 minutes to go from 4" to 5". I think I'm heading for 6" at this point.
  15. From 25 minutes ago: NWS State College ✔@NWSStateCollege Hourly rainfall amounts of 2 to 3+ inches are expected to impact southeast and east-central. Additional storm total amounts going through the mid-evening hours should be as much as 4 to 6 inches with isolated heavier amounts. Widespread flash flooding is expected.
  16. I'm really not that far from you at all - right now I'm at 4.49"
  17. River forecast office has already lowered the expected crest of the Susquehanna by about 1' in Marietta and a solid 2' in Harrisburg - are there areas that are significantly underachieving?
  18. I imagine today probably reminds of nor'easters out on the Island. Well, minus the wind.
