  1. It's gotten cloudy here and temps have leveled off. 74 now.
  2. Save for 3-4 big plays, PSU is being manhandled on the line of scrimmage by Villanova.
  3. Sunny and 75. Seems to be yet another significant overperformer with temps today.
  4. @CarlislePaWx- thank you very much for all of the information. I appreciate it. Admittedly, when I installed it I mostly relied on my own (flawed) reasoning.
  5. I sacrificed the wind to get the accurate temp reading. My station is only about 20' behind my house...but it's fully shaded save for a very brief period of time in the early evening when the high for the day has usually occurred anyway.
  6. @paweather - I think you'll end up pleased with your investment. Not sure what you've had to this point, but getting a weather station several years ago really upped my appreciation for weather events. It's "fun" tracking rain now...beyond total amount, you can now get accurate rates per hour, per event, per day, etc. Same thing with temperatures...again, keep the sensor in the shade as much as you can.
  7. There's really nothing to "put together" - you'll want to consider buying 2 additional things however. I bought a 10' wooden post at Home Depot and sunk that a few feet into the ground. I also ordered a piece of steel pipe directly from Ambient. I clamped that to the wooden post, then mounted the station itself off the pipe. If you go to YouTube and search the Ambient Station, you'll find videos on how different people installed there stations. You'll need to find what works best for you. Just remember to try and find an area out of direct sunlight (obviously) yet as far away from structures as you can get...and the higher, the better to get some accuracy in wind speed. My yard does not allow that, I knew going in that was a sacrifice I would need to make. My station is between 10 and 15' off the ground. Ideally you'd want it a little higher, again, that's for the wind aspect.
  8. @paweatherI think @Voyagerhas the same one that I do.
  9. That's the one...though my rain gauge was showing 3.51" yesterday since midnight.
  10. How much do you want to spend? I have the Ambient 2902 - you can get it for less than $200. It's simple to install and provides everything that I would want. And it's accurate too.
  11. Given Canderson's report, it definitely gives pause when considering what MDT reported. On the flipside, all of the Coop reports were completely in line with what I reported. (Including Middletown and Harrisburg) As you said, it's a big mess and at this point...it's going to remain that way. 14.69" is my official monthly total. Period.
  12. 61 here and I'm expecting somewhere around 72-ish.
  13. I really don't care what the airport receives, with snow it's all about my backyard. (and the front for that matter :)) I honestly don't care about rain either, but what the NWS is reporting for MDT doesn't fall in line with the town it's situated in. And it's not even remotely close.
  14. I understand and empathize with you. How can there be such a disparity in numbers? If we were talking tenths of an inch I'd sort of understand. But how does MDT receive over 2" less than the town it sits on the outskirts of? This wasn't some isolated thunderstorm.
  15. The whole rain amount issue from yesterday is bugging the heck out of me. It's time to let it go now. It's a gorgeous day with more to follow!
  16. I mean...the LOWEST total on CTP's report is nearly 3"!
  17. I don't understand this at all (not you...the official numbers) when virtually every station within a 25 mile radius of both MDT and LNS were between 3-4". I checked with several friends that have rain gauges and every one of 'em had well over 3". The numbers reported on that graph seem to be perfectly aligned to every actual measurement I've obtained.
  18. Well...this matches up VERY well with my 3.86" for the event. Elizabethtown coming in at 3.82" and MDT at 3.84"...
  19. As I said 2 days ago... Although, I'm surprised by how lousy the Phillies lineup did against minor league pitching the last 2 nights. Hard to believe how close Baltimore came to sweeping the series.
  20. The lanternflies aren't that bad here...at least not nearly on the level of the mosquitoes. I guess 15" of rain in 3 weeks will do that...
  21. Just went for a walk along the river. Two observations: The weather is spectacular. The Mosquitoes are quite possibly worse in wooded areas than I've experienced in my lifetime outside of Alaska. We had to bail and walk along Market Street in Marietta. We were absolutely getting swarmed.
  22. 3.86" final total. Very close to @CarlislePaWx total. (3.77")
