  1. I should clarify, I think Simmons will play before then. I don't think he'll play in Philly. Seems like an easy game to "rest".
  2. Help pay for next year's investment. It costs a pretty penny to have full season NBA membership. I wouldn't sell them all, but maybe half? That's what we do during the regular season. We've been to 14 games. There's 12 home games left and we're going to 6 of them. 20 trips to south Philly is plenty during the winter.
  3. Makes complete sense. Thanks for the input. If work wasn't a concern would it still matter?
  4. I have no real expectations regarding Simmons. Once the game is within a few days of happening and his status becomes more clear, you'll see those outlandish prices essentially hold...or plummet. My wag is he doesn't play.
  5. Okay - so there's a little ongoing "discussion" our friends to our south are having this afternoon regarding snow accumulating on streets. Some feel that it truly doesn't matter, since snow isn't measured on streets, others are saying it's not the same if it's only accumulating on grassy surfaces. If I'm being completely honest - snow isn't the same to me if it isn't "all white" - there's nothing like the first stages of a "real snowstorm" when the roads and sidewalks are already white while the grass is only dusted. I don't really like seeing several inches on the grass if the roads and driveways are just wet. It loses some appeal to me. What says you, good people? Edit: It's not a plowable snowfall unless the plows are actually needed.
  6. I'm not selling. I'll sell 76ers-Nets playoff tickets if and when they occur. March 10th? No way.
  7. At least Paul was at the game on Saturday night. No sign of Harden.
  8. Heard some rumblings earlier about the first few days of March. Might be the next legit window?
  9. About as good as chance has Harden has at making a stop on defense.
  10. Same - it's been quite a while since there's been any snow here other than Sunday AM. Piles disappeared a couple of weeks ago.
  11. Several years ago there were some spots near Boston that had snow piles that didn't fully disappear until June.
  12. Over the past 2 days I've traveled through a good part of our county. There was snow cover yesterday pretty much everywhere outside of a 5 mile radius of the homestead. Sort of disappointing. That said - I had very low expectations coming into this winter. I fully expected this to be a bottom 10 in my lifetime, if not bottom 5. Given what I thought were realistic expectations, I'd honestly rate this winter as a C. We've had a lot of cold with some snow. I'm at 12.1" for the season. I've done worse. And there's certainly a chance that won't be the final total. It's all about perspective in relation to expectations.
  13. Any day with sunshine and little wind this time of year will feel good outside even with normal temps. I was getting used to what we had last week and yesterday was kind of rude. LOL
  14. @canderson- you mentioned potential storms for Thursday in the past couple of days. I see the Mid Atlantic severe thread is active this morning...
  15. I received .09" of liquid. After seeing multiple pics of snowy landscapes in this thread yesterday afternoon, I took my wife on a "snow investigation" trip around the area. It was amazing what happened as soon we got out of the Maytown/Mount Joy area - ground went from brown to fully snow covered in Landisville, East Pete, Manheim, and even Lancaster. It seemed like the only area without snow cover was from the Mount Joy borough line to the river. Everywhere east, south, and north from there was a totally different world. But it certainly made sense. I lowered my snowfall yesterday back down to 2". Maybe you can give me an estimate based on my liquid total?
  16. Makes sense. It was never to be a normal snowfall season however.
  17. That is crazy! I have NO snow left in my yard. Nothing. It's 100% gone.
  18. Sun angle is never wrong to talk with me about. I play it up all the time in here, because there are many scenarios when it's underrated. (there's also time when it's overrated as well)
  19. What were you expecting? Seems like most in our area got or exceeded what was predicted, and that was even more than what it looked like we would get back on Thursday. I mean, if you were expecting 8" I could see the disappointment, but...
  20. Ground temp must have warmed up a good bit this past week - snow really melted quickly despite temps at or below freezing.
  21. Whatever I actually received...has already obliterated. Just a few patches left in shady areas here. Definitely a "March" type snow by all accounts. For my records, I'm going to record 3". That's lower than everyone reported around me, and lower than what radar would suggest that I had. I was under the really impressive band for a couple of hours overnight. But I'd rather go low than exaggerate high. Going with a seasonal total of 13.1" here. (I know that going in I was at 10.1")
  22. So to be completely transparent- I had a late night and got up very late this morning. I looked outside and saw grass...my yard is kept at 2" during the winter so I eyeballed about 1.5". After I made my post I quickly realized that significant melting had already taken place. Bottom line - I have no idea what I actually got. Given all of the reports I'm seeing from all around me, I think it's safe to say that I had more than 1.5". I'll never know how much, which is upsetting because I like to keep records. But it was Sunday morning and I was tired.
