  1. Barometer here is down to 29.85 Mainly cloudy and down to 62 from 63 earlier.
  2. 57 here with partial clearing. I've only received .49" of total rainfall for the entire weekend. The actual weather has not lived up to the forecast heading into the weekend. Well...except for the mild weather today.
  3. This is a very good point and should be noted given some of the conversation over the past couple of days. Total rainfall for the weekend is well under almost all guidance and forecasts I saw. WPC had the LSV in the 1.5" contour by 7pm this evening and I'm not even halfway there.
  4. I love snow on the ground that doesn't melt. And while admittedly I'm a big dog snow hunter, it's been a long time since I've had snow cover for more than a week.
  5. MU has been busy on X today explaining why he feels strongly that we won't see more than a light to perhaps moderate snowfall in January: 1) Dominant NW flow of cold but dry air 2) Very weak southern stream energy 3) No west-based Atlantic block If those modeled things materialize, forget about a bigger event.
  6. Thursday morning's CTP forecast for today was "Rain, mainly before 4pm". Yesterday morning it was "Rain, mainly before 1pm". Last evening they updated today's forecast once again to "Rain, mainly before 10am". HUGE difference in practical weather, especially when it's dark shortly after 5. Thursday's forecast implied that almost all of the daylight hours today would be wet...clearly, that does not look likely.
  7. @Blizzard of 93 I think I came off the wrong way, and for that I apologize. For the record, as of now count me in the "excited for January" camp. There is much to be cautiously optimistic about. And that was the sole basis of my "slow down" comment. There's a difference between being optimistic versus making definitive statements like "next week I'm going to be shoveling" - and those are statements that you've made repeatedly over the past few years when in the end, nothing happened. I will never speak against your excitement and enthusiasm. I write about just that in my "day in the life" entries. But the fact remains...there's no absolutes when it comes to the weather other than what's happening outside your window now. Again, I'm sorry I contributed to this for you.
  8. Slow down. You have said the exact same thing the past few winters and little to nothing materialized. Great advertised patterns, even if they do pan out, don't always produce. A really, really good local met thinks we'll get one moderate snowfall in January.
  9. No sir! We had my mom over on Christmas and she was telling my wife that I was the perfect child. And as my wife said later...oh how little my mother knew(knows)
  10. I make more mistakes in a day than most do in a week!
  11. LNS was in the mid 40s? Wow! MU briefly hit 39. My high was 37.
  12. Wife and I went out for our annual Christmas Eve drive to look at people's light displays. Was surprised that much of our drive was in rain.
  13. This is exactly what Elliott from MU was discussing on his X feed last night. He is very bearish on a KU type storm in January but he does see a path to 3-6", 4-8" event.
  14. Merry Christmas weather family! May all of you enjoy the very best with your family and friends no matter how you celebrate. Have a great holiday season.
  15. I wonder where the line is between locations getting warmer vs colder. It's down to 12.6 here now. Oh, and I love having Brandon Aubrey as my kicker...
  16. 1000%! I will always take a single KU monster that paralyzes us over a winter of dinks and doinks. I love the thrill of anticipation, tracking, obs, and the visual delight of seeing a buried landscape. I'd prefer it lasted a week. Give me 1 week of deep snow cover. Please.
  17. That was me in response to them falling behind 21-0 early and then rallying to make it 21-10 by halftime. At that point, they had NOT folded...I never said they wouldn't in the 2nd half, but at the half, they had not.
  18. Well, to Tennessee's credit, they didn't fold. Let's see if they can make THE sweat in the 2nd half.
