Sun angle is never wrong to talk with me about. I play it up all the time in here, because there are many scenarios when it's underrated. (there's also time when it's overrated as well)
What were you expecting? Seems like most in our area got or exceeded what was predicted, and that was even more than what it looked like we would get back on Thursday.
I mean, if you were expecting 8" I could see the disappointment, but...
Whatever I actually received...has already obliterated. Just a few patches left in shady areas here. Definitely a "March" type snow by all accounts.
For my records, I'm going to record 3". That's lower than everyone reported around me, and lower than what radar would suggest that I had. I was under the really impressive band for a couple of hours overnight. But I'd rather go low than exaggerate high. Going with a seasonal total of 13.1" here. (I know that going in I was at 10.1")
So to be completely transparent- I had a late night and got up very late this morning. I looked outside and saw grass...my yard is kept at 2" during the winter so I eyeballed about 1.5". After I made my post I quickly realized that significant melting had already taken place.
Bottom line - I have no idea what I actually got. Given all of the reports I'm seeing from all around me, I think it's safe to say that I had more than 1.5". I'll never know how much, which is upsetting because I like to keep records. But it was Sunday morning and I was tired.
I'm thinking it's at MU - Elliott had tweeted last week both the number and the fact that Lancaster is the true snow hole of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
Standing at 6.6" for the season, Lancaster PA has the lowest seasonal snowfall total of any official reporting site in:
Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York. Hopefully they get a nice snowfall with this system.
More from Kyle:
It's hard (and unwise!) to ignore the impressive dynamics/lift between the I-81 & I-95 corridors tonight into tomorrow morning.. so I've issued a "Storm Outlook Map" for this sneaky, #SuperBowl Sunday snowfall event. Highest totals likely near the Mason-Dixon line.
Yes, if we were only talking weather right now...well, the thread would be pretty dead. Not that we're quickly filling pages as it is.
Maybe March will deliver something to get everyone involved for the real reason why we want to be here.
I know a lot here don't care about Sixers drama like we do, so this will wrap things up for me -
I just want to point out that me not liking a trade is not equal to it being a bad trade. The only true barometer of whether or not the trade was good or not will be what happens going forward. The success or lack thereof will ultimately dictate the quality of the deal.
I don't like it because while Embiid is taking his game to another level, he is still extremely fragile. He spends more time laying on the floor than my kids did when they were 2. And when; not if, but when he goes down and out again...the cupboard is now bare of bigs. Including Drummond was the sole reason why I don't like the deal.
Enjoy the weather. It's the only weather we have.
I'm not sure I understand what you're asking.
First off, I said that I wasn't a fan of the trade. You quoted me complimenting Embiid - that has nothing to do with Simmons.
Second - they haven't won a championship in 39 years. Before worrying about what happens after they win it...shouldn't there be some emphasis on like say...winning the title first?
Third - I don't think it's fair to say they were ready to be "post Simmons" - Simmons wasn't exactly chomping at the bit to take the floor in a Sixers uniform. He stated many times that that would never happen. He sort of forced their hands a little.
Embiid has slowly made me a believer this year. He's been incredible for the past 20-25 games. As you said, he's still improving. He's the song that went from #9 to #2 on the Billboard chart this season while Harden has gone from #5 to #13. And that might be generous.
Embiid has been so good he's even played spectacularly when I'm in attendance. That alone makes him MVP worthy.
