That's actually a pretty profound and accurate statement. Many times in the past during similar situations the verification often failed to meet the criteria.

I certainly don't want to speak in his place, but he has previously mentioned that he thought that wintry weather was over for the Lanco area other than some nuisance events. That might not have been his exact wording, but close. I thought it was a bold way to go, personally.

It'll be interesting to follow the strength of the airmass coming in - we're getting to the time of the year when actual temps often outperform the models. (especially on sunny days)

Maybe the guy from MU will be right again after all? He essentially called winter off for us folks a couple of weeks ago. (he's also referring to tomorrow night's event as the "final" winter event): This month may very well be remembered for the dramatic temperature rollercoaster ride that began on February 1 and will continue through February 28. We'll end up seeing high temperatures reach or exceed the 60-degree mark on 5 different occasions (including tomorrow), but have also experienced two days with highs in the upper 20s. To illustrate how dramatic the ups-and-downs have been, the high on President's Day (February 21) reached 64 degrees following a bitterly cold low of 16 on Sunday morning (February 20). Right now, we're still immersed in one of the "crests" on the rollercoaster, but the "dip" that's right around the corner (Thursday/Thursday night) may set the stage for one last wintry mess.

If anyone needs a tan to enhance one's appearance...it's me. LOL

I've said very little about this "event" as I feel that ice projections are usually vastly overdone, especially for us southern tier folks. My thoughts are based off of past history and the conditions leading into this particular storm.

61 here, and 60 was the lowest so far since midnight. What time of year are these temps normal? Has to be close to Memorial Day weekend? (as far as overnight lows I'm talking about) I'm enjoying this - NOT looking forward to tomorrow night.

Winds are really gusty right now and the temp is rising - 59 here now. So far, .19" of rain has fallen.

This is the first time for us - many trips to various parts of the Caribbean, Bahamas, etc., but we're really excited to spend a few days docked by the pink sands in 'Muda.

Heading on my 14th cruise in August. (Bermuda) As someone who travels a lot, cruising is at the top of my list. Can't wait!

You know...I'm really glad to hear you say this - I've felt for the past couple of weeks that we were about done. (LSV specifically) And, for all the reasons that you just mentioned. To me, this whole winter required almost everything to sync up perfectly for us to score a flush hit. And to play those odds would seem to be a harbinger for disappointment. I was reluctant to share how I felt as I didn't want to be "that guy" who got cursed by others...but it's just felt like it's about over for a good while. Hey, we can get really lucky and end up with something special. Odds certainly don't favor it, but odds didn't favor the US hockey team beating Russia in the 1980 Olympics. That's why the chase lives on, but short of something unforeseen happening, the most likely outcome down this way for the rest of the winter is some scraps. And heading into March - I'll pass on the scraps.

Hmm - I don't know. I do know that 65 in my house does not feel the same year round. 65 in the summer feels more comfortable to my wife then 65 does in January.
