  1. That's really impressive, especially coming off a pretty good soaking just the other night. Not a lot of sun the past 2 days to encourage growth, however.
  2. That's the kind of information that will make @Mount Joy Snowman salivate. LOL The stat about Tampa is not overly shocking, but if I wasn't privy to that info, I probably would have bet at some point that they reached 100. It's not the extreme heat...but it's relentless. And relentless with unrelenting humidity. Of course, you this all too well.
  3. We had a heatwave back in the mid 1990s...I don't keep heat records like I do snow, so this is based off of memory and not written down as facts. What I do remember is having a 3 day stretch where highs were in the 100s and my lows were in the low to mid 80s. That was the hottest stretch I recall during my lifetime.
  4. It's been a Interstate 81 South and East summer thus far. I wouldn't mind it if this pattern held in oh say...January 2023?
  5. Managed a late day high of 85 after spending hours right around the 80 degree mark.
  6. Should be an interesting evening radar watching. Southern tier has to be getting pretty soggy - I know you referenced this earlier in the week, but southern Lanco and Chester have been getting hit hard. That area down around Nottingham/Oxford and environs is over 6" in the past 7 days.
  7. If you get another 1-3" tonight, I'd think you'd have to be cranking the engine by early next week.
  8. This reality will have him scrambling for a snow map in t-minus 5 hours...
  9. Road crews must have done a great job getting things treated overnight.
  10. Right? I need to start patenting my commentary. LOL How much did you get last night?
  11. MU Weather Center@MUweather Last night's rain was a story of the "haves and have nots." While areas north of the PA Turnpike received a few hundredths of an inch of rain, a general 1-2" fell in parts of southern Adams, York and Lancaster Counties. Only 0.14" fell at @millersvilleu, with 0.27" at my house.
  12. 2 things I noticed this morning: Last night's event would have created some hard feelings if it had come in January Showers are now in the forecast for Saturday. I'm guessing the front is now slower to move through...which isn't abnormal in July.
  13. That map looks just like MU's call from yesterday.
  14. Good to hear. Up until the past week I was getting concerned about our Peppers. They came a long way since then. We're getting ready to enjoy Tacos with our first homegrown tomatoes!
  15. My strawberries have been done since mid June, but my raspberries are flourishing! No Kale, but our Oregano is also doing well. And yes, a lot of watering.
  16. How are your veggies doing? We're picking our first tomatoes of the season today. Peppers are right behind them, we should have a few by the weekend. Eggplant and cucumbers seem to be struggling this year.
  17. I'm currently at #24 despite mostly missing out on good rains the past couple of weeks. I've had just enough to keep it growing, especially in open sunny areas. We're tied at 14. I hit that mark the other day. Only 86 here today so far as I've had a lot of cloudiness.
  18. According to MU's update from earlier today, a wave is going to form this evening and enhance shower activity over the southern tier counties. He's thinking that those areas could get a general 1-2" of rain tonight into early tomorrow AM.
  19. Not really...the things that I know are of absolutely no value to anyone else. LOL
  20. It just started raining here...Bubbler for the win!
  21. I see that little cell on radar - must be virga due to all the dry air aloft!
  22. Yeah...like, I'm REALLY weird. I went to my first Orioles game in 1977. Saw the Indians. It was jacket night at Memorial Stadium, and there were 29,215 in attendance. I read that in the Lancaster New Era the next evening and have not forgotten that number over the past 45 years.
