  1. The rise has slowed a bit - 87 here. MDT still seems a bit low as you were inferring.
  2. 86 degrees in the historic district just past 10am.
  3. With the game being a 6:05 start, I'll be sitting/looking directly into the sun for the majority of the game. Joy.
  4. Yep, I checked out the matchup on Monday. Looks like about 97 in Philly on Saturday - if we're lucky, it might get down to 89 by the end of the game.
  5. My low was also 72. I'm on the verge of 80 (79.2) at 8:32am. Well above yesterday's mark and similar to a lot of mid to upper 90s days from the past.
  6. Heat Advisories are hoisted if the HI is expected to reach 100 or greater, but less than 105. If the HI is expected to exceed 105, an Excessive Heat Warning is issued.
  7. MU Weather Center@MUweather The #dogdays of summer have arrived & are here to stay for awhile! We'll bake under 90+ degree heat through the weekend, & there's an ~40% chance the mercury cracks 100°F on Sun. Drink plenty of non-alcoholic beverages & take frequent breaks in the shade or indoors.
  8. Sadly, I was not there. However, 5 years later - I was there in person to see Sandberg homer in his first 2 at bats against the Red Birds. Not as dramatic, but being my first ever game at Wrigley, and to see him drive in 6 prior to the end of the 2nd inning...pretty special nonetheless. 1989 was the first full season of lights at Wrigley. I really wanted to get there prior to that but never could. I remember games as a kid that would get suspended for darkness. Also back then, the neighborhood beyond the outfield wasn't built up like it is today, and the games back then were wild. Winds blew straight out uninhibited, which resulted in games like the 23-22 Phillies-Cubs slugfest.
  9. If you watched the video and are wondering - that is NOT me dancing on the dugout after the 2nd home run. I just want to make that clear.
  10. One of my favorite Sandberg memories (against a pretty good relief pitcher who just happened to be a Donegal Indian)
  11. I know Mt. Holly's AFD this morning was already talking about relief coming from a cold front next Monday. Hopefully that knocks us back down at least a couple of days.
  12. I'm going for the Jake Owen concert after the game. Go Cubs!
  13. Yeah...I think at least here in Maytown we'll run at least the next 6 days (if not more) of 90+ temps. Still, the temps are more in line with "it's summertime" vs "this is extreme".
  14. I'm already at 89. Thinking 92 or so seems likely now.
  15. 84 at 11:15. Temperature rise has not been overly impressive. Only 6 degrees from the 90 mark but not feeling super confident that I'll get there. If I do, I'll probably eek out a 90 barely. Just walked across campus here at work and the dews are definitely down some. In the shade of the office building out front it felt downright pleasant.
  16. Wow, that is remarkable! Especially when it seems like there's more AN than BN weather anymore.
  17. 80 at 9:25am. I've been stuck on 14 days at or above 90 for some time...today might add to the tally.
  18. @Mount Joy Snowman I'm so very sorry. I lost my father in 2015. He was 76 but in very good shape, ate well, worked out...he seemed like he had many years left. One morning when he woke up, he bent over to put on a sock...and he never got back up. Boom. It was over. Never take anything for granted in life.
  19. Dewpoint is lower than yesterday morning for sure...it was a fog-free morning for my lenses.
  20. Being on the line in a severe threat is better than being on the southern extent of a snow map, I'll tell you that. 100%. Rain is welcome, rest can kindly fizzle in the drizzle. It really does...
  21. 83, partly sunny and steamy. It's ripe for something later on.
