  1. MU Weather Center@MUweather The Mesoscale Convective Vortex (MCV), or small-scale rotational feature w/in a larger complex of showers & storms, is currently moving into western PA. Storms are already firing up rapidly ahead of & to the south of it. Timing of potential #SevereWeather is 1-5 p.m. for the LSV.
  2. Biggest concentration of storms moving towards Central PA right now are along the southern border counties. Also, a very intense cell just popped JUST south of me - I think the MJ Snowman might be getting a deluge about now...
  3. I was just looking at that. Looking at radar, it sure looks farther south than the HRRR has it. I guess we'll find out soon enough. Someone is going to get waffled.
  4. Big one on Memorial Day - I don't think we're a participating member this year. However, in town there's a giant flea market kind of thing where they close down Main Street and line it with vendors. Quite likely that I'll be training some of the food stands. LOL
  5. Yep, I'm fully onboard the warm overnight express....
  6. My wife and I were cleaning out our closet over the weekend and I noticed that my jacket had a film of dust on it - guess it's been a while since I've had any form of outerwear on...
  7. Congratulations! That's a great accomplishment to upend the king from his throne.
  8. They took the Brunt-son of the Dub's wrath last night.
  9. Picked up .65" total here, .05" of which fell before midnight. That's 1.92" of rain since last Friday PM.
  10. Maytown Mike has just transformed to Maverick Mike.
  11. Certainly respect both opinions here, and wouldn't want to wager on it. I'd lean on getting past 90 here in Lanco both days but quite possibly not in Rouzerville.
  12. Sorry, I missed the part that you bolded. LOL Yeah, that isn't going to go over very well with a few here...
  13. Nah, he's looking for a "tango" on a "voyage" with a couple of our posters...
  14. ...and now Elliott is liking what I'm suggesting: For the first time since August 27, 2021, I am now predicting the mercury to reach or exceed the 90-degree mark at Millersville and across the entire Lower Susquehanna Valley outside of the highest elevations (i.e. South Mountain). In fact, it's not out of the question that temperatures reach 93-95 °F in downtown Lancaster, York, and Harrisburg. Factor in sunshine and 60- to 70-degree dewpoints, and heat index values will be in the mid-to-upper 90s in the hottest locations. Because our bodies haven't experienced or acclimated to these kind of temperatures since last summer, it's critical to stay hydrated, avoid alcoholic beverages, and take frequent indoor breaks to minimize the risk of heat exhaustion, especially if you're engaging in strenuous activity or plan to spend several hours outdoors. Wearing lightweight and light-colored clothing is also a good idea in extreme heat. The sultry air mass will remain in place Saturday night and prevent overnight lows from falling below 70 °F in most spots, and I can't rule out a second-consecutive 90-degree day on Sunday depending on the timing of an approaching cold front.
  15. Wow. Is there any other guidance even close to that?
  16. Yeah...a lot of people are going to be in for a rude awakening. In the span of 2 weeks we'll go from Saturday temps in the 40s to the 90s.
  17. It's an equally pleasant 65 here. Just walked across campus and it was nice to get out for a little.
  18. Actually no. I haven't looked at a model in quite some time. I'm basing my call on memory from similar temp/dew/wind component/cloud cover nights in the past. Just seems like we're primed for a night where a lot of areas don't make it below 70. An uneducated guess if you will. LOL
  19. Eovaldi went on the DL last night from neck soreness. (lots of turning watching balls sail out of Fenway)
  20. 79.2 - looks like I might end up just shy of 80 today.
  21. @Mount Joy Snowman - Peter Sinks "only" got down to 20.7 overnight. I'm hooked on that station.
  22. Looks like temps on both Friday and Saturday nights might not drop below 70. Impressive for May.
