  1. MU: The strong-to-severe t-storms across west-central VA will move through northern MD & the Lower Susquehanna Valley btw. 11 a.m. & 5 p.m. Main threats will be flooding downpours & locally damaging winds, w/up to 2” of rain possible in just 30-60 mins. in the hardest-hit locations.
  2. Given SPC's thoughts on where severe is most likely today, I wouldn't see why not. But I am far, far removed from being an expert on severe. And I'll never actively root for it. It can stay far away as far as I'm concerned.
  3. Just saw that TOR Watch is up south of the border.
  4. I know one thing - one step outside this morning will confirm how ripe we are for drenching rains today. As my pap used to say..."the air is full"
  5. Final 4 showing including knocking off the #1 seed...very good season.
  6. Can't take a half off on the road against a team as good as the Warriors and expect to win. Obviously, you know that, but it might have been different if the intensity level was up from the opening tip.
  7. He needs to stop being so Philly centric and start producing some Luka posts tonight.
  8. I think Elliott is likely right about another thing - we often tend to warm up quicker than models suggest. I would not be surprised at all if many thermometers approach or reach 90 on Monday.
  9. 1/2 Great news for #MemorialDayWeekend! There's now good agreement between computer models that the upper-level low responsible for tomorrow's heavy thunderstorms will get "absorbed" by the northern branch of the Jet Stream on Saturday. 2/2 This means that even Saturday will turn out fairly nice with partly sunny skies and only an isolated shower or two around. Mostly sunny and warmer conditions return Sunday with highs in the low 80s, and we crank up the heat on #MemorialDay with highs near 90! MU Update:
  10. That's the thing - my yard is susceptible to both extremes. If I get constant rain combined with a largely open yard, it grows like crazy. Remove water from the equation and it's dying in no time.
  11. Great point. Sun and heat will dry it out real quick. I don't mow until it's at least 4-5" high. At least. Unless snow is coming.
  12. I mean...I don't need an 1"+ of water at this point. I'll happily take a quarter to half inch refresh and let him get the goods.
  13. If that depiction played out, I'd be in line for a lot of rain tomorrow at work and at home while @Mount Joy Snowmansits right between those 2 bands in Lanco. LOL
  14. That makes a lot of sense. Much of my yard is exposed to full sun, and with the rains that I've been getting on a regular basis...
  15. Yes, and it's been that way for a few weeks now. I'm thinking I'm closer to 20 mows now than 15.
  16. I mowed last night. Grass was about a uniform 6-7" high. I mowed last Tuesday and Saturday, and after tomorrow's grass washing I'm sure I'll be out either Saturday PM or Sunday to do it again. I asked my wife last night how many times does she think I've mowed this year, and she thought about 15-18 times. Probably about right. Only once would I say that I mowed when I probably didn't have to, but that was to prepare for an early spring season potential snowfall. LOL
  17. I ain't sayin' no such thing brother. I can't tell you how many times over the years that I was "positive" that a baseball game I was going to was going to be washed out...and it wasn't. And there were also a few times when a game got wiped out that I never saw coming. There are very few absolutes with the weather. I'll say there's an 85% chance of no baseball on the Island tomorrow night.
  18. MU also going for almost all the rain to be out of the area overnight tomorrow...only a slight chance of an isolated shower on Saturday.
  19. They're really starting to beef up QPF amounts in their point and clicks tomorrow.
  20. CTP already has us in the 90s throughout all of the midweek next week...looking more and more likely that Elliott had the right idea.
  21. I empathize for you...one thing to hold onto is that the heat might be delayed but I highly doubt denied. Also, there is a growing tendency for hot weather to last later in the season these days. Hang in there Steve.
