  1. Tuesday/Wednesday time period seems to have some decent potential for beneficial rain.
  2. I'm sitting at 81/66 - 66 is definitely on the sticky side, but it's noticeably better than the mid 70s of the past several days. Easy for me to say carrying a computer backpack 200'...
  3. 37-22 since June 1st, and they have a winning record against every AL East team except for the Bombers. As much as I've grown to despise aspects of my favorite childhood sport, this is the magic of baseball. NO ONE saw this coming. Last sports team to make a historic run that was unexpected might have been the Jaguars when they took the Patriots to the brink in the AFC Championship several years ago. But that Jags team had an incredible defense surrounding a horrid QB. It sort of made sense that they made a run...after all, the Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer at QB. You look at the Orioles lineup today and you think "god, this team has to really suck." They just keep finding ways to pull wins out of their fannies.
  4. Random comment - the Baltimore Orioles, who were ranked #30 in ESPN's preseason rankings (author ranked them 30 because, as he said, there wasn't a way to rank them lower) are now sitting 2 games out of 2nd place in the vaunted AL East. This is crazy. I'm patiently waiting for my team to collapse and they refuse to do so. Maybe this post will be the Sports Illustrated jinx.
  5. Matched you this morning with a low of 72. 7 degrees lower than yesterday. My high-tech comfort level meter (fogging of my lenses) still indicted a fair amount of said fogging this morning, but I honestly thought it felt a little better out there. Maybe I woke up with a better disposition than yesterday.
  6. .16" here. After being bullseyed last week I won't complain at all. Congrats to those who won today!
  7. Nice! At 3pm, my HI was 107. How's that for nasty?
  8. Oh, I know what you said. I was looking for some bad comic relief today. LOL
  9. Hopefully it rained hard for the duration to bring relief.
  10. How often does Phoenix NOT reach 100 in August?
  11. Couple of small cells in northern Dauphin and a few more moving east out of Franklin/Adams - at least some of us have a chance at something this afternoon it seems.
  12. Nice ribbon of 90s across the northern half of Lanco and York.
  13. 91/74 here approaching noon. I think that says it all.
  14. My wife and I were driving on 30 eastbound in York county last week when 2 riders passed us doing at least (conservatively) 90 mph...likely higher. Neither was wearing so much as a helmet. My wife freaks out and starts railing against bikers and I reminded her that not all bikers ride like that, and further, there are FAR too many automobile drivers who are just as guilty for driving recklessly. Inattentive driving has become almost the norm these days and it's frightening. I can choose to be the most defensive, cautious driver I can be and still be subject of the foolishness of others.
  15. Good point. I got nothing in response to that. LOL
  16. Geez, that sucks Jon. More than anything else, it's been the evenings that have been awful over our way. 88-90 degrees with 70+ dews at 8pm...I've had enough. And I'm not dealing with the sh*t that you have to.
  17. Yes. I think we'd need to be pulling off 98 or above highs to get double digits. It's the night time lows and high dews that are noteworthy of late. My mother...well, I'm not much like her. She has always loved the heat. She can't get enough of it. She called me last evening and asked when this was going to end. I thought that was interesting. So many people around me who are "summer fanatics" have been complaining as of late. It really is something to read your posts/comments and realize how different the weather is from the 'Ville to our area.
  18. Low was 78 here. I believe that's yet another double digit departure above normal.
  19. I really, really hope you and others who need it get rain soon. The weather can be very cruel.
  20. A couple of hours ago there was actually a fairly impressive line that formed almost directly over I95 from PA down into VA...that station that reported 78 had rain. Like you said, that doesn't account for the other areas. It's 95 here as well.
  21. I miss the days of nooners as well... 12-13 degree difference across the region. Sort of unusual for a day like this I'd think.
  22. We can hope... 92 now. Looks like a mid 90s kind of day.
