I'm interested in how much QPF fell in areas that had snow, or mainly snow. Seems like the higher end amounts were in the 6" or so range, not sure what ratios they had but I had nearly 1.1" of total rainfall.

I'm still searching for my first flakes of the season here - I'll take a passing flurry later on just to say I've seen snow.

My low was 32 here in Maytown. Skies are crystal clear out there right now.

Ironically, I can see Roundtop from my back door but I didn't see their lights on tonight. Roundtop is a 45 minute drive but near the same latitude-if a bridge crossed the river between us I could probably be there in 15 minutes.

Roundtop has an annual preseason sale in mid November and often have their trails lit up that weekend. I can't imagine Liberty is even making snow yet given the temps. They might start blowing tomorrow night though.

Good news for me if Allen's healthy. I'll take Josh playing in a dome over Buffalo this weekend.

It really is all about the wind direction out there - winds shift to SW and you're toast. Literally. LOL

Could be an ugly time for travel in PA tomorrow afternoon - CTP really playing up the potential for dangerous snow squalls over the much of central PA.

I was doing some cleanup in my yard after work yesterday and the amount of water was surprising - I guess the ground had frozen enough the night before that my 1"+ of rain didn't fully saturate.

Had a not-so-cold low of 35 this morning. Felt nice leaving the house in a short sleeve polo.

After a bit of a spike in temps earlier this morning, the temp has really leveled off here over the past couple of hours. It was 47 at 11am, it's now 46 two hours later.

You were referring to Elliott Abrams yesterday - I remember when I was young, there were a few terms he used often to describe cloud cover during the winter months: Variably Cloudy - did NOT want to hear that. It meant flurries at best. Considerable Cloudiness - not a big fan of that either...usually meant light snow/flurries that didn't amount to much Cloudy - now we're talking. Potentially could be a meaningful snowfall Overcast - the best term. Often used during significant events That's my recollection and reaction to how his forecast would begin for the day...I always remember wanting to hear him start of with "Cloudy and cold today with..." or "Overcast and cold with..."

GFS missed badly in western parts of the LSV. Lots of approx. 1" reports where the GFS had warning criteria snow amounts.

Friend of mine here at work that is a sports nut like I am takes an annual weekend trip somewhere across the US for a "3 game in 3 day long weekend" excursion...earlier this fall, he went to a Cubs game at Wrigley on Friday, saw the Fighting Irish at Notre Dame Stadium on Saturday, and then went to Lambeau on Sunday. Drove back to Chicago Monday and flew back and was in the office Tuesday morning. He said that the Lambeau experience was one of a kind...his only complaint was that there's very little room in those seats. Stand up for something and when he went to sit down, his seating space shrunk in half while he was standing. Edit: he also said that attending a Packers game is a very costly experience. LOL

I was at the Steelers game in Pittsburgh the day you're talking about with the Eagles...only got about 1" out there but it was 20 degrees and snowing heavily in the 1st quarter. Still a very fun experience. Shoot, I even wore a jacket.

Yeah, that's a good point. I'm sure that they're a little hardier up there with weather than some other venues, but there comes a time when too much is too much. (though it does sound like the south towns might get less than BUF and north)

There have been a few fun games to watch in Buffalo over the years.
