  1. Rants are totally understandable. I was on the edge yesterday myself. This isn't just to/for you, but to everyone really - it's interesting to me how personal perception can change day by day. Yesterday, I was surly, negative, and almost ready to be confrontational, really. This winter had me at my breaking point. I was genuinely upset over the weather. Today? New day. Weather hasn't changed much, if anything the outlook has gotten even more bleak. But I'm okay with that today. It is what it is...nothing I can do to change it. My mindset today is almost to make fun of the situation and just have fun with it. Nothing has changed today in my professional or personal life, either. Simply a new day and I woke up with a different perspective. Can anyone else relate to what I'm saying?
  2. Well stated - question is...will that wall of precip come in while we still have thermals? If the precip is delayed a couple of hours, we lose our window.
  3. Elliott has spoken: A #WinterWeatherAdvisory has been issued for the Lower Susquehanna Valley from 4 AM to 4 PM Wednesday. Snow should overspread the region from west-to-east between 8-11 AM and then changeover to sleet and eventually plain rain from south-to-north.. I don’t expect any accumulations south of the MD Line (precip starts as rain or sleet there). Between the MD Line and PA Turnpike (east of Route 15), a coating to 1” is most likely with 1-3” expected north of the Turnpike and west of Route 15.. Up to 4” is possible in the higher elevations of Perry and northern Dauphin Counties. Precip should change over to plain rain by midday south of Route 30 and by 2-3 PM in northern parts of the Valley. With temps near or above freezing, main roads should generally be wet.. .. but secondary roads could turn slushy and even snow-packed, esp north of the Turnpike. Allow extra travel time tomorrow, drive within the speed limit, and increase following distance. I expect @millersvilleu to finally receive measurable snow but no more than 1 inch..
  4. Better for us that it's in his hands and not through his foot.
  5. Sure seems like something needs to change in order to provide realistic opportunities for areas SE of the ridges. Agreed - at this point I doubt MDT records 1".
  6. I sort of did - my original thought was 1" or so at most. Having said that, I did waver and started believing some of those maps posted. As Bubbler said - expectations were too high given the setup.
  7. Lancaster is in the white shading there - that means snow...right?
  8. Paweather, look at the map just posted. Vast majority of Lanco is less than 2".
  9. Not many models show 3-4" where we live. We don't all live north of the turnpike. Also, the trend is not our friend. Right now I'd be highly skeptical of 3-4" in Palmyra but I don't know anything. LOL
  10. HH GFS showing a big 'ole snowstorm later next week - I'll be in Arkansas, so this one might have legs.
  11. I was caught on company security cameras watching today's models: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtTUsOKjWyQ
  12. Personally, if I was a betting man, I'll be awaiting your new and improved meltdown. (And I posted that before seeing the latest NAM)
  13. The SE edge of the "Decent" (2") snows continues to move NW. I'm not impressed.
  14. No snow in Millersville today: (Elliott) The first measurable snow of the season *should* occur on Wednesday at @millersvilleu..
  15. CTP's first call for here Wednesday is 1-3" - that sounds very reasonable.
  16. It was simply a rate issue - it was precipitating and there was some snow mixing in for sure - just wasn't heavy enough to flip over. It's all but a guarantee that I see a lot of snow in May. Can't often say that.
  17. Lost in my pity puddle rant - .78" of rain for the event (it was still raining when I left home) of which .49" fell yesterday, and .29" additional since midnight.
  18. This is not going to be the vibe of a typical post of mine. This winter is wearing on me. We had one snow at home (about 1") which I missed entirely while I was at work. It snowed a second time (about .25") while I slept and missed again. (though I did see some remnants in the morning. Today I started my day at home as I got home very late last night and had early meetings this morning, which I took from home. I was up at 5:30 and saw rain. It rained up until the time I left. Between 7 and 8 there was a mix, but it never flipped to snow (I clearly was lacking rates at this point) and it was never even close to moderate. On my way to work I did see the hills south of Wrightsville were VERY white...clearly more than a coating. The only other evidence of snow I saw was a little bit on Chickies between the trail parking lot and the day care center on the south side. Nothing at all anywhere else, and nothing at home other than some mixed flakes with the rain. Happy that you got to see some nice snow falling. But this winter just flat out sucks. And there's nothing anyone can say at this point to convince me otherwise. I feel for those down here in the southern part of Lanco who are STILL shutout on the season. On to Wednesday...
  19. The SE edge of the blues is advancing northwest the past 24 hours. Might not matter for some but it means a lot for you and me. My expectations are low for Wednesday. Very low.
