  1. Speaking of 60s... #February9th is just one of two days (the other being February 2) left in the year with a sub-60°F record high at @millersvilleu. There had been three until December 30, 2022. Can two of those three days be eliminated in the same winter season? We'll find out in the next 12 hrs!
  2. Up to 56 here and rising pretty quickly at 12:40pm - also have some sun here as well. If they get snow down south I say good for them. They've had a lot of crappy winters recently.
  3. 70 today...no credit. He was pretty clear that the opportunity would come next week. Failed forecast today! LOL
  4. My team (the people in this thread) left me down last night. I was at the gym and missed all of the MU talk. I did see his lengthy discussion and the short and sweet recap was this - if we actually do get any precip from the ULL, it's gonna rain!
  5. LOL! MU isn't calling for temps near 70 until next week - last I saw he was calling for 58 today.
  6. I would be very surprised. To me the progressive pattern points to a system escaping out to sea. Let's be completely honest and argue that the system comes farther north...where is the cold source outside some super wound up low that pulls cold down from above?
  7. This was a deliberate attempt on my part to bait you - I see I've succeeded. Now bring home the nitty gritty numbers that you know I'm really craving.
  8. 100% correct - a "big" deal snow back in the 70s and 80s locally was the 3-6", 4-8" type snowfalls. They seemed to be major events back then. Lately it seems like we can't buy those types of snows much. It' either a coating-3" or so or something much bigger.
  9. Looks like a partially melted Hershey Kiss down south with the tassel extending up west of the 95 corridor.
  10. Interesting info just released from Elliott: I plotted Millersville's decadal snowfall from the 1930s-2010s, & the results were interesting! The least-snowy decade (1950s) was followed by the snowiest decade (1960s), & snowfall has increased since the 1980s despite a warmer climate. Not a good start to the 2020s though..
  11. Sunny and 52 here as well. (forecast high for the day was 50)
  12. I loved Eric's videos the day before a big storm...legendary stuff!
  13. And to Bubbler's point - Elliott has been exceptional ever since he took over from Horst. When Eric retired I wondered what would happen to our forecasts with the new guy in town - Elliott has more than proven himself. Warminsta or not.
  14. Interesting conversation I missed last night. Everything that was posted were certainly valid thoughts/opinions. I don't have much to add other than I find it "interesting" the number of degreed mets who are NOT fans of cold and snowy winter. I'll speak for myself and say that in the past I've assumed that being a snow hound is what drives people to become mets. Clearly, some are not. Joe Lundberg is another great example - he used to appear on Weather World and I used to hear him on radio stations here in Lanco as well as a regular blogger on Accuweather's site. Without a doubt one of the best that I ever heard...he despised wintry weather and said as much often. I have no problem with mets expressing their love/disdain for the type of weather they most or least enjoy. Honestly...when Joe Lundberg went big on snow for this area, that's when I'd get excited. Think about it - would you rather have an admitted snow hound (Bastardi) go all in on an impending snowstorm or would you rather have that come from someone who doesn't like it to begin with? I'll take the latter for $1000.
  15. I honestly wonder how much of that is actual snow depth on the ground though.
  16. Quite a volley going on in here - I thought it was advantage HR guy until Atomix stopped by and dropped a deuce.
  17. 12z GFS - shockingly, it lost the snow for the weekend! (the storm still exists but is suppressed further south)
  18. I think for me I easily reach 50 Thursday and Friday - would not surprise me if Friday ends up a couple of degrees warmer than Thursday. CTP has me at 56 both days as of now. Friday might be a day where there's a pretty big disparity between our temps
