  1. Following your own words, just remember that not everyone lives in Marysville and even fewer of us live at MDT. There was no shoveling in Maytown for the past 2 years. (I had a storm that dropped about 5" on my yard last winter, but there was 1" at most on my driveway, which melted in minutes.
  2. Isabel wasn't a hurricane here but we officially reached 73 mph in gusts. It was a night I won't soon forget.
  3. I mean...2 years without shoveling is equivalent to us being under a Hurricane warning!
  4. Same here - 2 consecutive winters without shoveling once. That's uncanny.
  5. Welcome to spring - my property looks like mid April I'd say. I'll be mowing for sure on Tuesday.
  6. Well...I do see boats out on the river down here in the dead of winter, but today it seems like everyone is out and about.
  7. That's kind of part of what I was alluding to in my post above - being out today, you sense that collectively people are now in spring mode.
  8. Something about today - I know that I'm behind a lot of you and I know that I've already mowed the grass twice, but today was the first time for me that it clicked. Today just feels different than previous nice days. Spring has officially sprung.
  9. Sunny and 62 here - went for a walk and sweated my arse off.
  10. Temp is up to 47 here under cloudy skies. 1.19" of rain so far since yesterday morning.
  11. Decent shot at 2" or perhaps more here with what's coming with the 2nd wave tomorrow.
  12. Temps continue to fall right along with the rain - down to 44 now. (it was 49 at 7am) 1.12" and counting.
  13. It literally formed crossing the river and dissipated as soon as it moved SE of me - it was only on 1, perhaps 2 frames and gone. Just happened to hit me square.
  14. This might be "better" than any storm we had last year. We had a very lackluster storm season - we missed a few of the big light shows that hit other areas. Thunder right now is nearly continuous.
  15. Heat wasn't THAT far away today - DCA got to 83 and Charlottesville got up to 88!
  16. FWIW, MU believes there will be a storm next week. With zero chance of snow. LOL
  17. Pretty good disco in the MA long ranger about the SER - why will it not go away? Every time it's modeled to do so...it doesn't. If that doesn't get eradicated somehow, it's foolish to think that winters will be improve much at all over this year. Hopefully with the death of Nina there will be a positive response by next winter.
  18. While talking about weather oddities, here are a few more facts thrown out today to illustrate just how bad we sucked at winter this year: Speaking of snow, Millersville has still only received a whopping 0.9 inches of snow since October 1. Thus, it's a virtual "lock" that the record for least-snowy winter season (4.0 inches in 1949-1950) will be obliterated. Should this indeed occur, Millersville will fail to receive at least one, single-storm snowfall of one or more inches for the first time on record (since 1926). By April 1, no measurable snow will have occurred in November, December, February, and March at the 'Ville. The only measurable snow this season (0.9 inches) came on January 25, 2023. Never before has there been just one measurable snowfall in a winter season and no measurable snowfall in all 4 of the months mentioned above. The moving 4-year average for snow is now the lowest on record at a measly 13.6 inches. Combine these stats with a record-warm January-February period, and the unprecedented nature of this winter is truly brought into focus.
  19. 64 at home at 3:45pm. Very little sun here today which kept temps a little lower than thought.
