    Elliott's long range forecast released last night was not surprising but certainly discouraging - he sees a chance for a single event late next week that would have a ceiling of a few/several inches if everything worked out perfectly. After a couple of cold days next weekend, he's issuing a spring fever alert for much of February. Basically a full-blown torch for at least a few weeks. Sitting at 3.3" for the season...

    Already up to 50 here - what are we...12-15 degrees AN for the high and it's not even noon.

    Through the first 26 days of #January2023, there has not been a single day with below-avg. temps at @millersvilleu. Only one day (Jan. 14) had a normal daily mean temp, and temps will be above avg. through at least Jan. 30th. We’re on track for a top-5 warmest January on record! On only two days (Jan. 14th and Jan. 21st) have high temps remained below 40°F. In January 1932, there wasn’t a single below-avg. day. It’s a real possibility that we repeat that feat this month..

    Meanwhile, at my location in Arkansas I'm looking a solid 5 days of highs in the 30s with nearly daily chances of rain, sleet, freezing rain, and snow. Head to Arkansas for winter weather!

    CTP has me near 50 for that time period. I'd imagine any if any of those days feature more sun that forecast, 50 should be a lock.

    MU responds: A few light #snow showers are moving across northern parts of the Lower Susquehanna Valley this morning, & a quick coating is possible on non-paved surfaces. Otherwise, today will just be mostly cloudy & seasonably chilly (highs near 40°F) with a 10-15 mph westerly breeze.

    I remember. My records show that I received 5.75" of rain. Unlike Lee when I was literally in the bullseye, with Eloise the heaviest was west of me in Lanco.

    I'm sincerely glad that you do. Personally, he is a top 5 favorite poster of mine on the entire board. He's one of a very select few that can actually make me literally laugh out loud just by reading what he says. Thing is - he's very smart/knowledgeable about the weather. He's not just some weenie. He's a smart, funny as hell weenie.

    Agree 100% with this - I could be disappointed once again, but I'll say right now that I'd be surprised if we don't have at least one accumulating snow in the next 10-14 days.
