  1. Oh, I'm sorry. I missed it. I have not been on much at all this week. I should have looked.
  2. Saw a model output in the tropical thread depicting 2 feet of rainfall in south-central Florida next week: Edit: it was a GFS output posted by our very own @AccuChris
  3. Thank you for mentioning this. I thought the entire pendulum shifted right back to KC after that pitch. We had them on their heels, that is the time to go into attack mode. Sure, at 2-0 it has to be a perfect (hitter's) pitch to swing at...and it was. My entire disposition changed when he took that pitch. I went from feeling very hopeful to feeling like we just left them off the hook. He had to swing there. Had to.
  4. I'll be looking for you in the fan pit on Fox Big Noon Kickoff. I want to see you right behind Urban...
  5. My grass might be longer than it's ever been before. That will be rectified later today.
  6. Had a nice bright, sun-filled drive to the office this morning. At least locally the cloud deck is parting fairly quickly.
  7. The new day dawned with blue skies and sunshine streaming on the horizon. On to better things.
  8. Cute. What should I expect from a Phillies fan...
  9. Looking ahead into early next week, a third and more vigorous cold front will swing through the mid-Atlantic States from northwest-to-southeast spanning Sunday night to Monday evening. One or two bands of gusty showers are anticipated along and/or in advance of the front, but rainfall amounts should be on the order of hundredths or tenths of an inch south/east of the Allegheny front. Depending on the speed of the front, showers may already be east of the I-95 corridor by the Monday morning commute. In the wake of the front, gusty, northwesterly winds of 12-25 mph will usher cooler and much drier air into the Commonwealth. Dewpoints will likely be in the 40s by Monday afternoon and remain there through at least Wednesday, and high temperatures should be near or a few degrees below the 70-degree mark on Monday and Tuesday. A large, Canadian high pressure system will settle over the central Appalachians and mid-Atlantic States during the middle of next week and promote mostly sunny skies and light winds. As a result, efficient, radiational cooling will take place after sunset, and lows on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights could plunge into the 40s. I don't anticipate any early-season frost concerns, but this air mass will give us a true taste of autumn. Winds should ultimately turn west-to-southwesterly late next week on the backside of the aforementioned high pressure system, so a return of 70- to 80-degree warmth is a "good bet" next Thursday and Friday. As a whole, the weather pattern will turn drier and more pleasant from this weekend through mid-October. In aggregate, I still expect rainfall to end up below average and temperatures to be slightly above normal this month. Let's see how that forecast holds up! -- Elliott
  10. Their big off-season acquisition did exactly what they got him for. Crying shame to take an L after 8+ innings of 1 run baseball. The offense is undisciplined and sorely lacking in situational hitting.
  11. All dry here at work and the sun is peeking through the clouds.
  12. Hall of Famer on the field. Not a Roberto Clemente award contender. As a diehard baseball fan I'm honestly embarrassed Pete Rose is not in the HOF. Travesty is right.
  13. Braves up 3-0 in the 8th? Eh no sweat...Mets hang a 6 spot to go up 6-3. Demoralizing for the Braves...eh, they come back and hang a 4 spot in the bottom of the 8th. 7-6 Atlanta. Surely, the Mets are crushed...eh, Lindor hits a 2-run jack in the 9th, 8-7 Metropolitans. Diaz somehow navigates the bottom of the 9th, Mets are officially in. Braves must win game 2 or it'll be New York and Arizona who advance today.
  14. Mets/Braves game might be one of the top 5 MLB games I've watched in the 54 years that I've followed baseball. This is absolutely nuts.
  15. Radar looks encouraging for you - I don't know what to expect here. At no point this weekend did I have more than a 30% chance of rain...and the same applies today.
  16. Here's one model that pitched a complete game shutout that I was referring to:
  17. I saw several that had a plume of rainfall that extended from your area NE up through the LSV west of the river. As you said, the NAM was little light...there were at least a few runs where there was nothing at all. I saw these maps in the MA thread and just remember thinking that it was going to be a cloudy, but dry few days over this way. At no point since Friday has CTP had any time period here receiving more than .1". *I did not pay close enough attention to make a statement "a slew of models..." - that was a little strong. But combined with what I did see plus CTP's forecasts...I'm surprised by how much rain has fallen. Apparently @Jns2183 has seen the same thing.
  18. Admittedly, I did not look at models at all for months, but on Friday and Saturday I did see a slew of QPF map outputs from models showing little to some cases no measurable rainfall through midnight tonight. I've received .73" just since 4pm yesterday...pretty big miss. And there have been quite a few people who have gotten much more than I have.
  19. @canderson Alabama leaf frogged Texas to claim #1 ranking.
  20. It was frustrating. I was disappointed that they didn't throw downfield a few more times - I can only remember the one that drew the PI. With Nick and Kaytron doing their thing...if they can keep defenses honest with some shots downfield, look out. All that, and then there's Warren. Good things happen when he's near the football. Yet another PSU TE destined for Sundays.
  21. Make that 5 for 12. Awful. Can't go far with a zero kicking game.
  22. Substandard (being nice) kicking game at PSU lives on...dude is 5/11 on field goals for his career.
  23. Illinois has a history of not only playing well but winning at the Beav. No way I'd take PSU at 18. But I don't gamble and I'm extremely cautious by nature.
