There is a large church down the road in Marietta with a huge expanse of grass - it really got brown the past 2 days.
It doesn't take long this time of year when it doesn't rain. I mowed early in the week and the grass has ground to a halt.
4 games out with 3 to play leading in to the all star break.
Orioles have called up 2 of Baseball America's top 25 prospects over the past 2 weeks. The #1 prospect in all of Baseball (Jackson Holliday, son of Matt Holliday) is terrorizing the minors and might not be far behind.
The O's are loaded.
2 ski resorts are still open in the USA - Timberline in Oregon and Mammoth. Mammoth's base is now down to 24 - 90" and will likely close on the final weekend in July, a week short of their latest closing. It's been very warm recently with temps on the mountain reaching the 80s. They needed a cool to average early summer to get the record but instead had record high temps.
Hard to imagine 7' of snow after a few weeks of temps in the 80s.
After a few days of shower and storms, it looks like Sunday could end up being a rainy day. All depends on where the low pressure tracks late in the weekend.
It shot me out of a deep sleep like I've never been awakened before. Our house shook too...my wife said "the trash company dropped a trash can" to which I looked at her and said "yeah, our house always shakes like that when a trash can hits the street."
Seward, I absolutely love! Only place I've ever been, standing on the shore of the Pacific, breathing in the salt air, and looking at the snow-capped mountains on the edge of town. Gorgeous.
