  1. Smelling a big time overachiever today - sunny and 63.3 at 12:15pm. Skies are mostly sunny with a few summerlike cumulus out there...to my knowledge, this was NOT the forecast from last night for today.
  2. Already up to 53 and it's not 10:30 yet - solid chance for another 60 degree day.
  3. Seems like the weekend and early next week potential are slowly but surely fading for snow hopes. It seemed a little fast/soon to score...on the maps above that Blizz posted for this weekend the ridge axis isn't even close to where we want it.
  4. Yep, and that's exactly why I refuse to say winter is over despite how epically horrible it has been. Plenty of time left for a late season hurrah.
  5. We hit 58 by 1:30 - shortly thereafter clouds moved in and temps dropped. It was 57 at 2pm, 54 at 3pm, and down to 50 at 4pm. Kind of an unexpected progression.
  6. Mostly sunny and 58 at 1:30... Currently 53 at MU so I'm definitely overachieving.
  7. Pretty good disparity in temps today - 50 here now. In the sun it feels quite warm. No question the sun is getting higher in the sky now.
  8. Very true - 3 consecutive sub freezing days with frozen precip on all 3 of them. Can't remember the last time that happened here.
  9. Can't post on my phone, but what an informative series of tweets from Elliott a few hours ago about the SSWE and the potential affects on our weather in March. In short, he sees potential for a one to two week window for snow at some point between 2/28 and 3/20.
  10. Winter must also be defined by more than just snow. In addition to almost being shutout snow-wise, it has NOT been cold. My lowest temp for the entire month of January was 25 degrees- that is an AN temp for virtually the entire month and that was the coldest morning. Some of our other snowless winters featured some cold weather. Outside of the couple of days around Christmas it's been warm.
  11. I'm really not trying to be combative with you but for areas of Lancaster that are under 1" - tell me how much worse it can be?
  12. So, our winter really hasn't been that bad because other areas suck more? Again, a lot of regular contributors to this thread are no where near 5" for the season. And some are still under 1".
  13. No - the fact that I've had 3" for the entire met winter season will not be compensated for by a big March. For some of you maybe...this is subjective of course, but a near shutout met winter is a colossal failure in my books. And most of Lanco has received even less than I have. (0.9" officially at MU)
  14. Light rain showers/sprinkles do not want to move out of Lanco - still wet and 47 here at work. Did not expect the wet weather to last nearly this long today.
  15. My sons always enjoyed playing tournaments at the "Pool Field" in Palmyra - they were both lefties and liked to go opposite field over the big wall in left field.
  16. I've done 2 PBP's this winter - the first was an epic run out of nowhere on a 12z GFS run that would have produced feet of snow if it would have materialized...sadly, and predictably, it did not. What I learned was that my PBP's produce a mixture in order of: excitement...hope...and ultimately...despair.
  17. It's 60 here. Also, looks like we might see one more shower with the passage of the actual front.
  18. Sometimes people tell me that I have a quick wit...obviously those people have never met you. How the hell you come up with this stuff on the fly is impressive...
  19. MU tweeted this 2 minutes ago: I won't rule snow out, but there are no significant snowstorm signals for southern/eastern PA through the end of February.
  20. That account helped me remember a little better. I think we must have had some pretty good winds with that as I found a picture with snow drifted over 5' high against our patio door.
