I'll admit - after a busy morning yesterday I got next to nothing done in the afternoon. Severe weather threat days sort of stress me out. We're usually out of the woods for severe by this time of the year barring something from a tropical system, but the current pattern might lend itself to more opportunities going forward. Joy.

In a few months the sun will still be out here while it's snowing in Clearfield.

I noticed this at sunset last night - sky looked much different than it has in months. My wife saw it too. It wasn't a traditional summer sky. It won't be long now.

It was 66 here at midnight, and 69 at 6am.

Lots of damage in Solanco - read several reports of multiple homes with roofs ripped off. Also a family of 4 trapped in their basement which was destroyed. Might be an investigation for possible Tornado tomorrow.

Nice rain + no winds = win.

Needless to say, this part of Lanco was a half pound burger topped with nothing.

It had a TOR warning issued by LWX.

There was talk this morning of a last round arriving near midnight. One of the Mets in the MA thread even thought that conditions could be ripe for severe with that.

Light rain and 79 in Maytown. .03" over the past 10 minutes.

MU Weather Center @MUweather Severe storms are now exploding across south-central PA, WV and northern/western MD. Some of the discrete cells near Hagerstown are showing signs of rotation. Take shelter in an interior room or basement if you live in the path of these storms! The tornado threat is ramping up..

I know there are 2 sides to this and both have been well documented and discussed previously. It's a weather extreme, fascinating, and other things. I just can't bring myself to wish for severe knowing that severe weather basically implies that someone will receive some sort of damage. I won't wish that on anyone.

Just got out of Monday meetings and was reading a well respected red tagger in the MA thread who posted that conditions in this general area are not favorable for Tornadoes...at least yet. I really hope that holds. Here's to hoping we all get a nice rain with a 15 mph breeze...not likely but I can hope. I don't wish damage on anyone.
