  1. My high today was right in line with everyone around me. No idea what happened last night. LOL
  2. His call was for a mild and mostly snowless December. That was on point. His call was for, as you mentioned was a 3 week bout of cold and snow from late December into the first 2 weeks of January. That came later than forecast by about 2 weeks and fell entirely in January. He also said on 11/1 that the cold would likely be bitterly cold. That verified. February is TBD but his original call was dry and mild. He definitely had some details off but on the whole his call seems okay to me. I don't recall, I could be wrong, but I don't remember anyone calling for a spell of bitterly cold weather in January except for Elliott. Not trying to defend him necessarily but those are the facts. He never tries to save anything. He always owns his mistakes.
  3. Sounds like a wide range in temps kinda night...still 30 here.
  4. High today was 36. MU posted today that he favors a mild February pretty much wall to wall the way it read to me. I can't post his comment right now.
  5. My low was 14. That's 12 above my forecast low. Though it appears that many got much colder.
  6. A balmy 20 here at midnight. Not getting close to 2 degrees here.
  7. Now that you mention it...I did see a kid down the road with his Red Rider in hand...
  8. MU is in on the cold train for tonight, calling for a low of 2 in Lanco.
  9. In the past 15 minutes I've risen 2 more degrees to 31 now. Also, just had what appeared to be at least half of the snow on my south-facing roof slide off. Startled me.
  10. 20 in Maytown. As Phil Collins said years ago when naming one of his biggest albums of all time... No Jacket Required.
  11. Snow covered areas facing south/southwest are taking a beating down here today. Just drove by the park in Washington Boro and the hill along the parking lot up to the pavilion and ball field is green. 29 at home currently. Edit: From the picture you shared the other day of you and the laundry baskets I'm sure your front yard received minimal melting damage today. You look like you're in a good spot to minimize melting on sunny days that stay below freezing.
  12. Harrisburg/Middletown area has been running much colder this week for whatever reason. I do not ever remember MDT consistently being colder than I am. Shoot, I'm up to 24 now.
  13. Sunny and 20 in Maytown. Melting has commenced on south-facing exposed areas.
  14. Each morning this week has been unique in terms of temp distribution - on Tuesday it was warmer at home than anywhere on my drive to work. Yesterday the temp was bouncing around wildly the entire drive and this morning my temp was colder than anywhere else on my drive. All 3 mornings were plenty cold though.
  15. Yeah but I'm meh-ing the heck out of this threat until I see a Banana high.
  16. Currently it's 0.0 which is the lowest of the day here.
  17. Another crazy snowfall oddity - the big story in CA has been the unfortunate and devastating wildfires recently. It's been incredibly dry which has aided the formation of those fires. One other note pertaining to the dry weather is the lack of Sierra snowfall. In fact, it appears as if much of the Sierra will likely make it until the 2nd week of February before the next chance of anything more than a inch or so if that. With that said... When January ends, this appears to be the final monthly snowfall totals: Pensacola Florida: 8.9" Mammoth Lakes, California: 3.7" (Mammoth is at 108" for the season with almost all of that falling between October and December. That is only 39% of where they should be to date.)
  18. 18 degree rise in temp at home so far, up to 13 from -5. Now running a little ahead (warmer) than yesterday.
  19. Just saw that. And yeah...that would definitely qualify as a setback. LOL
  20. Looks like Cape Hatteras, which is out there a ways in the Atlantic picked up 9" of snow last night. Picture is from Hatteras Village. This is much farther south than a lot of tourists go who vacation on OBX.
