In Lancaster (MU) today will be the 14th day this month with a high temp below normal. This is when the majority of people are outside and "enjoying" whatever weather is occurring.
We will only end up AN for the summer because of overnight lows being significantly higher than the long-time norms.
There are several that have been notoriously bad...Jim Joyce, Bob Davidson, Phil Cuzzi come to mind quickly. Some are worse than others in different areas, but I think Angel is the worst I've seen behind the dish.
The video that I posted on the previous page talks about how he's protected by the union.
I've been a passionate baseball fan since 1972 and I've never seen a worse plate ump than Angel.
Yes indeed. I'll be back down 3 weeks from tonight against the Braves. Hope the Phillies catch fire and make another run this fall. I'm waiting for my 40th anniversary Phils-O's World Series.
It is really, really nice outside...hard to believe it's August 22nd. Sunny skies and 72 approaching 11am and with the breeze it probably feels cool to some, especially in the shade.
@paweather - I'm heading to south Philly tonight to see the Phils-Giants game.
I wish I had good records from when I was a kid - there was a morning in late August, probably in the late 70s or early 80s when Landisville in Lancaster County got down to 38. I seem to remember getting down to 42 that morning. It really sticks in my memory though that here in Lanco we had a morning in August that reached the 30s.
I wish I had definitive data.
Mow #26 commences shortly!
You have had a LOT more rain than I have, and your mow total is probably closer to me than you realize. Last year I was well into the 30s at this point.
Whoops, thanks for further checking into this. I got my numbers from the basin of Death Valley National Park. Although interestingly, every single number that I saw in the forecast that I got is identical to yours except for Sunday's high. Every one.
