  1. I'm sitting in my car at home - rain and wind is insane. Radar isn't lying here...
  2. Wife reports that the faucet was opened wide at home - very heavy rain now.
  3. Just how "not hot" this summer was: @MUweather Today will mark the 5th-straight 90-degree day at @millersvilleu and for most of the Lower Susquehanna Valley. This will end up being the longest and most extreme #heatwave of 2023. In fact, there were only 4 days with highs at or in excess of 90°F in June and August combined!
  4. That...makes perfect sense. And I chuckled reading it - the installation story for my most recent station is very long and mostly boring to anyone other than me, but let's just say that me and DW had an ongoing "discussion" about the exact location of the station. My big contention was that it would be isolated from any ornamental decorations, awnings, etc. She had her own thoughts but I'm quite proud to say that my station is indeed isolated... and I'm still married.
  5. 4 consecutive mornings starting off at 72 here. Also, in the midst of a mostly clear sky with just a few random high clouds, there was a very large CU tower off to my NE. It looked especially odd so early in the morning and also there was nothing else anywhere in the sky. Pretty cool to see.
  6. Amount of cloudiness will decide our fate me thinks.
  7. At any rate...high today was 95, matching yesterday. Tomorrow will be day #20 to reach the 90s.
  8. I'll try once again - the last several of these that I posted were pretty big fails. Has to be right this time...
  9. No doubt - but those aren't indicative of all areas. I was forecast to reach the upper 90s the past 2 days and have not done so. In fact, the worst of the heatwave was to be the past 2 days, but Monday was the worst. My comment/question was really intended to be more fun than critical. Maybe I'm looking for positives to help stay cool.
  10. Even with all of the records that have already been set...is it fair to suggest that in some small way that the heat has actually underperformed just a bit? The 97 on Monday was impressive. It seems like the past 2 days have fallen a little short of "what could have been."
  11. Thanks - we had that early snow in '82 that you mentioned and then it was a long, mostly snowless wait until the big boy arrived on 2/13/83.
  12. For Lanco, MU is going 96-100 for today, 94-98 tomorrow, and 90-94 for Friday. Currently in Maytown it's 88.3, which is the hottest it's been prior to 11am in 2023.
  13. I am not - my football slate for 2023 is the PSU White Out game and Pittsburgh - Green Bay.
  14. Saturday looking more and more like a rather wet day up at the Beav - bad weather, early start, inferior opponent probably = a less than stellar game.
  15. High yesterday in Maytown was 95, falling 2 degrees short of Monday's 97 reading. This morning's low was just 72.2. 18 days this year at or above 90, yesterday was the 5th day I reached at least 95.
  16. His effort to avoid trouble after deliberately putting himself in trouble is ironic!
  17. Thank you! I forgot to mention that very thing. Every day during the summer season the beach patrol clears the water, regardless of surf conditions. It's sort of comical to watch people line up on the beach and head directly into the ocean the second that the beach patrol hits the boardwalk on their first steps off-duty.
  18. Rehoboth Beach has informative signs posted at each public beach access point with diagrams and instructions for Rip Currents. Each individual still owns some responsibility to use and educate themselves.
