I'll be honest and speak specifically for my backyard - this storm was underwhelming. 1.5" of rain and some sub-advisory winds. A solid storm on it's own but it wasn't what I thought it would be.
For anyone who has or will be negatively impacted, I hope I don't come across the wrong way. I wish all of you well with whatever you have to deal with.
1.33" here and the rain has slowed to a very light drizzle.
@canderson my wife, daughter and granddaughter left the Farm Show at 7:15 and didn't have any issues. Not sure what lot they were in.
A bit of a lull coming to the southern tier shortly...but the next wave of heavy rains will be moving in later:

As an all weather (except severe) geek, all I can say is - even without an ounce of wintry precip falling here...that is an absolute beaut of a storm. I love images like this...
Next week - there's a lead forecaster at a Lanco university known for it's weather program who has been talking for 2 weeks now about next week. He hasn't been impressed with anything prior...but if you've followed some of my snippets from him, he's very excited for an east coast winter storm between 1/16 and 1/20...
I can't say that it's not a viable concern at this point.
No, you're exactly right. Last year was never supposed to be snowy, let alone cold. Not sure where he got that from but most forecasts were for AN temps and BN snowfall.
