  1. MU Weather Center Due in large part to the #ArcticOutbreak from Jan. 20-24, #January2025 concluded as the coldest winter month (DJF) at@millersvilleu since January 2018. Despite above-average snowfall (11.1"), it was the 6th-driest January on record at the 'Ville. That's maximizing snowfall potential in that data.
  2. Do school district administrators only base their opening/delayed/closing decisions based on how white the ground is? Even though we had very little snow, the roads were trash this morning. Our local school district dropped the ball big time by opening on time.
  3. Finished with .2" of snow and sleet last evening. It's been a crazy morning in the office... Had a team member involved in an accident earlier - she's going to be okay, her car is as she described to me via Teams is finished. Personally, I slid multiple times on my way in to work and I was driving VERY defensively. As others have mentioned, back roads (even some significantly traveled roads around here) were awful. Which raises this question: WHY...why was the Donegal School District (and others, I presume) not on a delayed opening this morning? I really don't like to question other's decisions, this seems baffling. I thought road conditions were worse today than in at least the past several years. I don't understand.
  4. @Blizzard of 93 I still can't sleep tonight after watching the Sixers cough up a 26 point lead late. Stars or no stars we have to win that game.
  5. I got snow... I got sleet... And...I got myself a road caved. 31.1 degrees. Probably a 50/50 mix. Win nonetheless.
  6. 29.4 which is my highest temp so far. Nice cold day.
  7. Elliott and Chuck are both on the March train. Both are not enthused about March. Hope they're both wrong. About February.
  8. I just hope that we all can get some snow. So much looks promising but I'll be honest...it bothers me that both Elliott and Chuck aren't enthused yet. They both like March. Hope they're right about that and wrong about February.
  9. Yeesh, I need to be better than that. I misquoted him. I thought we were joking about setbacks, which was in his post. No wonder you posted what you did.
  10. He said he's leaning warm for February with multiple cold shots. I think we were talking about this last week. "Setbacks"
  11. Paul Knight (from Weather World fame) might be the most accurate forecaster I know of in my lifetime. He lives just outside of State College. He HATES cold weather with a passion. It's interesting how some of the people we look up to in forecasting aren't anything like we are.
  12. I thought it was interesting too. Though, the next couple of weeks might not produce. Regardless, it won't be boring!
  13. This thread was on page 4, now it's 3 pages. I wonder who removed posts?
  14. Low overnight was a chilly 17. Currently it's cloudy with some filtered sun and 24.
  15. If anyone in the world reads LNP anymore, the headline in today's sport section has "Bubblers" in the title.
  16. Yep, that's where I'm at as well. When I saw it was a 3 team deal I had my hopes up that we gave Embiid away. My understanding is that Morey doesn't want to do anything at the deadline.
  17. I cannot believe the things that people say to each other in OT. It's back and forth, every day, same group of people involved. I don't understand how or why they're not embarrassed by their own behavior.
  18. Temp 29. First time in the 20s at this time of day in a while.
  19. Most of the banter continues in the main thread. I can't nor do I want to try and force people to banter here, but I will continue to do so if there's any interest.
  20. My anxiety over flying has increased big time this week. The scenes from Philadelphia last night were disturbing. Ugh.
