  1. Holy crap, it's 39.2 at home! Edit: It's 39 officially at MU as well. (it ain't just me :))
  2. Must have been? Thing is, I was only at or below freezing for about 75 minutes total. Most of the night (10pm to 7am) was either 33 or 34.
  3. Stunned at how warm it was this morning - 34 currently, looks like it briefly dropped to 31 earlier. Pretty big bust at least locally.
  4. Interesting data - and I agree...what saved this past 5 years from being #1 all time were the back to back big Marches that we had at the start of this 5 year period. One of the biggest snowstorms occurred on the first day of spring. Take that out of the mix and we'd be staring at a record run of futility.
  5. He really has, and I'm glad that you mentioned it and not me. Hopefully his streak continues, as he's still thinking that it will turn white as winter progresses.
  6. Elliott on next week's rain potential (and beyond): Not until next Tuesday or Wednesday should a storm system move into the Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic States and bring the next round of unsettled weather to the region. This system will likely bring rain to parts of the Deep South, Tennessee Valley, and Midwest on Christmas Day but face resistance from the large high pressure system over New England. Regardless of the system's timing, temperatures will be way too high and the storm track too far north/west for any wintry precipitation in the entire mid-Atlantic region. Thus, another soaking rainfall is a "good bet" at some point during the middle of next week, but amounts should not be high enough for any more flooding concerns. As mentioned, it will also be another "mild rainstorm" with temperatures in the 40s or 50s. 'Tis the norm in December during strong El Niño winters. As for snow and ice, the tide may turn in early- to mid-January, but it'll be a "no-show" until then. Cue the old adage, "Patience is a virtue".. -- Elliott
  7. Low of 26 this morning in Maytown. MU's call of a 3-5 AN December is looking pretty good...
  8. Yep - my wife reported snow at home about an hour ago and the temp was down to 36.
  9. Thanks for sharing this - do you happen to have the direct link to Sterling's? That one tends to be much better for those of us east of the river.
  10. Just 34 for my overnight low - not sure I stay in the 30s today, it's already up to 38.
  11. Very true. Just remember that different personalities means that many are not like yours. I'm 58 years old and never went back to back years without shoveling a single time. Until the last 2 winters, that is. And as horrific as the past 2 years were, you were still able to post snow maps that gave me literally hundreds of inches of digital snow. Having said all of that, count me in as one who believes our turn is coming soon.
  12. You mean like how this beauty panned out yesterday?
  13. It "seems" like some of the early calls of little snow until 2024 might be coming to fruition. There's still time, however.
  14. Maybe...though, if they can get a good run of snowmaking nights they might be able to open up limited terrain between Christmas and New Year's. The heavy rain/high temp combo called them this weekend.
  15. Looks like the main stem Susquehanna reaches high-end minor flood stages further NE, but just action stage at Harrisburg and Marietta.
  16. Agreed - I mostly posted that in response to @Bubbler86 post last week about the lack of early season skiing locally. Last week, Roundtop looked like it might have been a good night's snowmaking away from opening but they're almost back to square one now.
  17. The local ski areas got decimated the past couple of days - Roundtop's cams this morning are...depressing.
  18. Wow, that's a lot less than what I had. I eclipsed your total at 2:47am it appears.
  19. A soggy walk into the breakfast buffet this morning!
  20. I know it's going to get windy later on, but I also thought that there would be winds with the storm. That was not the case...top gust here so far is 12 mph.
  21. Thanks for getting those numbers! Interesting that several in this thread reported totals well over any official station. My son actually eclipsed me with his 3.51" total several miles east of me. I went to bed at midnight with well over 2" down - I'm honestly a bit surprised that my total didn't reach 4"...I was expecting the early morning hours to overproduce what fell prior to midnight.
  22. Skimming through posts this morning...this got my attention...
  23. Maytown numbers: Rainfall yesterday: 2.05" Rainfall since midnight: 1.41" Total rainfall so far: 3.46" Oh yeah...lowest barometric pressure since at least 2020 - currently sitting at 29.21" (lowest on my station which I installed in 2020)
