  1. Wait - you had snow the other day? When was that?
  2. Meanwhile - back here in Central PA, I found this on CTP's website: URGENT - SPRING WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service State College PA 10:08 AM EST Tue Feb 27 2024 Adams - Blair - Clearfield - Cumberland - Dauphin - Franklin - Lancaster - Lebanon - York Including the cities of Carlisle - Cashtown - Clearfield - Harrisburg - Mount Joy - Lancaster - Lebanon - Maytown - Rouzerville - Summerdale - York 148 PM PST Mon Feb 26 2024 (this watch does not include Perry County, including the snowy hamlet of Marysville) ...SPRING MOWING SEASON WATCH IS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MARCH 3 UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE... * WHAT...Increasing likelihood of the 2024 mowing season commencing. Central PA residents are on notice that the mowing season may soon begin. If mowing becomes likely and imminent, the watch will be upgraded to a warning. Residents of Maytown will likely experience mowing conditions first. * WHERE...Much of Central PA. * WHEN...From Sunday afternoon until further notice. * IMPACTS...Grass heights could exceed 5" or more in areas susceptible to significant grass growth. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Stock up on gas now for your lawn mower. Make sure that your equipment is safe to use and is greased and ready. Be alert for sudden rises in lawn growth, and take action once grass heights exceed 5". For residents of Marysville, blindly ignore this watch and focus on keeping your snow blowers gassed and ready. There is no emergency assistance in Perry County, so you are on your own if your grass starts growing while you're posting snow maps.
  3. Ladies and Gentlemen, and fellow snow weenies - if you ever have the chance, you really should make a trip out west to Mammoth. You won't regret it. I know I miss it: Going to be some epic video in the coming days. 4. I think we're just getting high in general. Whoops! Not a very HR-like comment!
  5. Yeah...CTP has snow in my grid for overnight Wednesday.
  6. Thank you! I was getting worried that I wouldn't see any more false snow this season.
  7. It is a regular stop on my lunch circuit for that reason. (and others)
  8. CTP has me in the 60s as soon again as this Sunday.
  9. Going there this Friday - today I took my lunch and ate down at the Enola Low Grade trail right along the river.
  10. Went out for lunch...so glad I did. It is beautiful.
  11. Sometimes I actually post more during the offseason. Feels more open to share odd random musings. Will you please provide a full detailed PBP of today's 12z GFS? I want to know how many snow maps I can expect at 6:30pm eastern time.
  12. I'm looking forward to and going to enjoy the spring weather the next few days. Having said that, it's sort of depressing to see that the board is already in spring mode. It's been over 2 hours since the last post in the MA LR thread...sobering.
  13. 28 in Maytown this morning. Last week you shared an RGEM temp map showing Lanco at 8 degrees Sunday morning. I took the double over, meaning I thought there was no way we'd even get down to 16. I had a few anxious moments Saturday evening as the temp was falling fast for hours. The temp really stalled out after midnight - it was 22 at that time and only fell 2 more degrees. There were a lot of teens elsewhere; however, so undoubtedly some got close to that 16 mark. The RGEM consistently undercut all other guidance and forecasts. Even though it was overdone, there were days when the temps did indeed fall below all other guidance and forecasts and nestled in closer to the RGEM.
  14. Yes sir. That equinox storm dropped 17.5" officially here in Lanco. Almost all of it fell during daytime heating.
  15. It is - this week is the 6th anniversary of a big severe outbreak in February 2018. I was under a Tornado Warning, confirmed funnel cloud over eastern York County. That ended a couple of days of temps in the 70s, one of which I hit 78.
  16. Temp fell steadily for hours and then stopped at 20 for my low.
  17. 25 here now. Was 41 as recently as 3pm. Falling fast in Maytown!
  18. 41 and brisk in the shade. 41 and quite pleasant in the sun. Today isn't the weather vibe I was expecting most of the week. Certainly nothing like last Saturday's wintry day.
  19. Forgot to add, .15" of rain since midnight. No flakeage this morning here.
  20. Currently it's 41 here. Back on Tuesday my forecast high for today was 33.
