I mean, going off an old man's memory, but as a kid I do remember seemingly every winter was much better to my NW. Always seemed like every storm dropped incrementally more snow the deeper into PA you got. A lot of mix/changeover storms that likely stayed primarily snow to my north and west.

If there is something legit fishy...I wonder which station was the bigger culprit?

Some of those years in the 1960s there was nearly a 20" difference between Harrisburg and Lancaster. As Elliott at MU would say..."yikes!"

Thanks - big differences in quite a few years over a short distance. Must have been a lot of mix storms where the Harrisburg area held on to snow much longer.

Was that at MDT? Lanco's average for the 1960s was only 36"

Having been there this past May, I follow the weather in Mammoth on a daily basis. After last year's epic run, it's been a colossal disappointment so far this season. The actual village of Mammoth Lakes was running over 250" behind last season to date as of this past Sunday. They had a nice storm overnight into today and as you mentioned, a moisture-laden storm looks to get them pretty good starting late Saturday night.

Into the month of February and Nashville has more snow than Minneapolis. Hmmm.

That's kind of what I was saying. I love cold weather, but there comes a point in time when it almost doesn't even "make sense" any longer. If it's March 1st, cold and windy as all get out with snow opportunities for snow on the horizon...let's spring forward.

It would be quite "unfortunate" if late Feb/early March features partly sunny, brisk days with highs around 40 and zero precip.

Well said. We're going to have realistically about 35 days (2/15 - 3/21) to make a lot of ground. At least there are indications that it could happen. Like you said, it would be beneficial if we get a double digit storm to advance our cause.

I can only go by what I've read...I realize it's a risky proposition to make a statement like I did until there's evidence confirming it. I guess maybe I'm being naïve but I feel like this HAS to be a good move. Hey...Cal's a minority owner. It does sound like the wallet will be wide open. When I was growing up in the 1970s, every MLB team wanted to be like Baltimore..."The Orioles Way" was what it was referred to. The franchise that was run right and played the game right. That started fading in the 1980s... Baltimore, and it's baseball fans have deserved so much better for years, and today marks a new beginning with new hope a whole lot to look forward to with the talent that has been assembled. I wasn't sure I'd be around to say that I'm proud of my team again.
