Big good or big bad?

Thank you for that. You have a great sub, and with as many people that are in your area, there's going to be a few who act out. It's just frustrating because well, most down there have had more snow than what we've had, which leads me back to the point that they have this oddly weird assumption that north of the M/D line it's frozen tundra from October to May. We're in the same boat. Especially those of us on the southern tiers of counties in PA.

That's exactly what I wanted - I want this weekend's storm to go west, my friend.

This is sort of OT but I want/need to respond to this please: First, @paweather I thank you for your kind words. In truth though, I do not wish to popular. What I do wish for, and what I strive to achieve every day in and out of both the office and at home, is to be respected. When I was interviewed by the Director of HR years ago, he asked me what was the biggest goal that I wanted to accomplish. Without any hesitation, I said that I wanted to be THE most respected person in the organization. I wanted to truly be a resource for our people, to engage them, work with them, help them...you know, do all the things that I think an HR person should do but often don't because most have their heads up the keisters and don't give the people that they are voice for any attention at all. Well, that ain't me. And I've built my entire career on Mentoring, Coaching, Collaborating, etc. So what does this have to do with Ruin?... If you go back, you'll see that I've never berated him, called him a name (other than Ruin) or anything else like that. I've tried to encourage him to find SOMETHING to be positive about. I'll challenge anyone to find a post of his that wasn't either negative or complaintive. Maybe one exists, but let's be honest here...he's a wet blanket. Which leads me to this - I am far from the person that I still strive to be. I fail, and I fail a lot. In the past, I've been called out by people like @pasnownut for some of my incessant negativity. (I always thought that when I was negative I had reason to be so ( ) BUT...I sat back, thought about it, and realized that I was failing both myself and ultimately others. And I'd like to think that I'm a much better poster today than even just a year or two ago. I love to learn. I want to grow, to be a better leader, father, husband...I try and learn from my shortcomings. I got a little harsh with @Blizzard of 93 a few days ago over a comment that he made that I felt wasn't fair to the person he was referring to. I could and should have handled that better. Life is full of learning opportunities... So, when I made my post in the past couple of days about perspective and gratitude, that was my online weather forum attempt at doing some coaching. It was my turn to try and payback and help someone (Ruin) grow, just like others have helped me grow. And maybe I should just stay in my lane and keep quiet and let this simply be a weather forum and talk specifically about weather...but my own goal in my life is to be my best so that i can help others...and I saw an opportunity and went for it. It might be very awkward and weird to some of you, that's just the way I'm wired. I want the very best for all of us. You stop at the gas station to fill your tank, why not fill your life the same way? @canderson - the winds will be here soon.

I think it's quite interesting that last night's Euro gave us nothing on Saturday and then a big dog next week. I'm telling you, I think we want this weekend to fail...

Ryan Hanrahan was CT_Rain or something like that? He was another one who changed his screen name at some point, but I always enjoyed reading his thoughts. I don't recognize any of the others. Sounds like a pretty good line for tonight's 4 Nations Faceoff though!

I think it might soon be time for another installment of "A Day In The Life of Central PA Weather" - I have some new, fresh content to share in this year's edition but I don't want to ruin it for anyone before I have time to publish. Yes, that was intentional.

I've only been on Eastern and this one. There were a lot of personalities back on Eastern, one of which was a young guy named Colin. He lived up near Hazleton I believe. He made Ruin look like Blizz. There was another active poster from the Wilkes Barre area that then moved to NYC and disappeared just in the past couple of years. One of my most favorite posters all-time was the met HeavyWx. He still posts occasionally in the MA sub, he was a met in State College that moved to Virginia. He would come in advance and during big snow storms and start talking like Typhoon Tip...I'd get all excited at what he was saying even though i had no clue what the hell any of it meant.

I don't remember. I think (?) we did start over on post counts here on American? Maybe?

Sometimes I need to heed my own advice. I really get excited for big storms...the thrill of the chase is electric. Of course, they don't come our way that easily and we were 100% spoiled from 2003 through 2016 when we had like 7 or 8 of them. Now, it's been 9 years and the itch is growing. I pulled back and realized that I wasn't being very rationale. I'm sorry for my temporary wet blanket.

Absolutely! He changed his screen names a couple of times, I remember him being Easternwx or something of the sort. I think he lived out near where Bubbler is for a while and then moved to VA maybe? I'm afraid he might have had health issues or something?

I'm happy...I guess? Blizz had me feeling guilty last night for not wishing this to turn better. Thinking about it, any snow is good snow. And there are no guarantees going forward, so there's that too. It would be nice to see yet another snowy scene... I'm just craving something special though.

Back on Eastern, his afternoon Euro PBP was epic. I mean zero disrespect to anyone else but his breakdown on model runs...holy cow was he good.

Yeah, "PhillyWx" which I don't think exists any longer. I posted there as well as Mitch and a few others. A lot of the Philly area posters bolted here for that site when it was started by Tombo.

I often think the same thing. (as JNS) You have (literally) millions of people in the New England, NYC, Philly and Baltimore/DC areas. We often easily outpost Philly and we're not far behind the others with WAY fewer people in our area. I think he's 100% dead on right. I don't think it's even close. How can you not see that?
