I'm looking forward to and going to enjoy the spring weather the next few days. Having said that, it's sort of depressing to see that the board is already in spring mode. It's been over 2 hours since the last post in the MA LR thread...sobering.

28 in Maytown this morning. Last week you shared an RGEM temp map showing Lanco at 8 degrees Sunday morning. I took the double over, meaning I thought there was no way we'd even get down to 16. I had a few anxious moments Saturday evening as the temp was falling fast for hours. The temp really stalled out after midnight - it was 22 at that time and only fell 2 more degrees. There were a lot of teens elsewhere; however, so undoubtedly some got close to that 16 mark. The RGEM consistently undercut all other guidance and forecasts. Even though it was overdone, there were days when the temps did indeed fall below all other guidance and forecasts and nestled in closer to the RGEM.

Yes sir. That equinox storm dropped 17.5" officially here in Lanco. Almost all of it fell during daytime heating.

It is - this week is the 6th anniversary of a big severe outbreak in February 2018. I was under a Tornado Warning, confirmed funnel cloud over eastern York County. That ended a couple of days of temps in the 70s, one of which I hit 78.

Temp fell steadily for hours and then stopped at 20 for my low.

22 at 11pm.

25 here now. Was 41 as recently as 3pm. Falling fast in Maytown!

41 and brisk in the shade. 41 and quite pleasant in the sun. Today isn't the weather vibe I was expecting most of the week. Certainly nothing like last Saturday's wintry day.

Forgot to add, .15" of rain since midnight. No flakeage this morning here.

Currently it's 41 here. Back on Tuesday my forecast high for today was 33.

They have a lot going for them that Roundtop does not - they have onsite lodging there as well...correct?

Yep, a lot of PA ski areas are now year-round destinations offering paint ball, ropes courses, scenic chair lift rides, etc. It's all about maximizing the potential cash cows at all sorts of different venues. They're doing the same thing at PSU with Beaver Stadium - they have the 2nd largest stadium in the US and have only used it for a total of 8 events a year...7 fall games and the spring game. Now, here come the concerts and other opportunities to add revenue.

My temp was 39 from 4:45pm yesterday until 8:12am this morning. Matched your rainfall total exactly.

A lot of hail reports...a lot of very intense cloud to ground lightning...all with temps in the 30s...

No, you're absolutely right. Elitist attitudes are off-putting at best and lead to a lot of pain and embarrassment as well. Weather is a science and it will humble the best of the best. No one has earned the right to permanently close doors in February and say definitively...well, anything beyond generalizations. Sort of like what @MAG5035 did above. Caution is prudent.

Minneapolis might be the story of this winter...of all the locations that have suffered with little wintry weather, they are off the charts.

That's a true statement, but I thought (I could be wrong) that it was a general statement and not for that storm...again, you might be right on that part as well.

Good. Every single outlet last year had Baltimore finishing last or next to last. They got zero respect for their 33 game improvement from 2021 to 2022. I don't think they'll win over 100 games this year but I love the disrespect all the same.
