  1. Yes sir, a specific area that is vulnerable to wild fluctuations isn't the right spot for readings that are the "official" ones. Rehoboth Avenue, the "main drag" that leads through the heart of Rehoboth from Coastal Highway to the Boardwalk is probably only a couple of miles in length. A few years ago for our summer vacation my car was reading 95 leaving the highway. By the time we got to our ocean block home, it was 84. At any rate, I think (?) the official reading for OCMD is at the airport in West Ocean City...same kind of deal, I'm sure. It's probably mid 90s at the airport often while along the boards it's at least 10-15 degrees cooler.
  2. I guess so - I spend hours every week along the river. A normal week, my wife and I probably spend 10-15 hours on the river trail that winds from the water's edge to at points a couple of hundred yards away. It is not uncommon at all on certain days to walk in and out of "hot spots" and "cool spots" where we look at each other with that knowing glance that we just experienced a significant temperature drop, almost like walking through an invisible curtain separating warm and cold. It's a neat thing to experience and like I said, it happens several times a year, and when it does it is very noticeable. Can't get down to the trail today but I wonder if this is one of the times when there's a large variance from one area to another.
  3. SW breeze is cranking here. If the wind veers just a tad more southerly the temps at MDT might bounce around some more this afternoon. Southerly winds this time of year I think tend to keep them cooler during the daytime.
  4. Already past the 70 degree threshold in Maytown - 70.4 and rising.
  5. 65 in Maytown. Exactly 5 above yesterday's number at this time.
  6. Wow, 61 at home currently. My grass went nuts over the past 24 hours. Over half of it needs mowed soon.
  7. I walked into the office today and after about all of 3 seconds...I was on the phone with facilities maintenance to switch the HVAC to HVAC.
  8. How much snow did you have on the ground? Only snow I saw was in the air here at work...my wife said there was the slightest hint of some coverage on our mulch at home.
  9. Yeah, I think there's a few warmer spots that take a run at 80 with enough sun.
  10. 67 at 6pm - still rocking a +18 departure for the date. (normal high spikes from 49 today to 51 tomorrow at Lanco)
  11. 69 at MU and at the house. MU dropped to 24 on March 1st. It has not reached freezing since, and it'll be almost another week until it happens again.
  12. He would have saved on fuel while mowing west to east.
  13. Not really - I commented or replied to @sauss06 that I was going to try and get out and get the first one in that afternoon. And I did.
  14. Ravens are about to sign Derrick Henry. 2 year/$16 million.
  15. LR GFS today has MLB opening day (March 28th) starting off with temps in the 20s statewide. Going to need to bundle up as my wife and I head to South Philly that day. It's one of the coldest mornings on the entire run.
  16. I would "think" that your yard will take off this week - several consecutive days of warm sunshine should start the process. I mowed last Friday...to be transparent, only about half the yard truly needed it. When I left for work today, everything was very green but not much growth again...yet. Currently it's 66 at home.
  17. Sunshine and a spectacular 63 at 12:35pm. Mid to high 60s, here we come!
  18. My house is sorta protected from W/NW component winds...when they veer south, that's when I really notice it. When we get random tropical storms, I'm heading for the basement.
  19. You're absolutely right - and that was kind of my point. LNS is a good 10mph less than MDT on average. You live in a wind tunnel.
  20. You need to get out of Harrisburg if you hate wind...I have no idea how accurate this is, but I just found this online that supposedly is current: I don't think (?) I've had anything even close to 40mph yet.
  21. Snow flurries here in Conestoga. Closest weather station quarter mile away reading 39 degrees.
  22. Pretty impressive how accurate that is - I'm at the office this afternoon and got a nice dousing of rain. That cell to the west of Oxford soaked me. It did end with flakes mixed in.
