  1. 2009 was Arctic with temps in the teens during the inauguration. I was there and nearly suffered frostbite. At that time, a raging snowstorm was underway in North Carolina.

  4. Seasonal Snowfall: Little Rock, AR: 9 inches Atlanta, Pennsylvania: 2.1 inches Washington DC: 8 inches Boston, MA: 5.7 inches New York, NY: 3.7 inches Philadelphia, PA: 2.3 inches Greensboro, NC: 2.9 inches
  5. NWS 540 am: The storm total snow for Greensboro (GSO) has been updated to include 0.2 inches of snow after midnight. The storm total snow at GSO was 2.3 inches. The total seasonal snow at GSO is 2.9 inches.
  6. At this range, not great, but not horrible. Definitely, not boring.
  7. NWS: As of 7pm, RDU reported 0.4 inches of snow. This ends the 1076 day (second longest) drought of measurable snow in Raleigh. The longest stretch without measurable snow in Raleigh was 1164 days which ended on 2/19/93. Records go back to 1887.
  8. What would be the mechanism or dynamic pushing it back?
