  1. Yes same just to your south in the bx. Flash flood warning now too.
  2. The sky looks green and lots of lightening. That wind feels great though and ominous at the same time.
  3. Severe t-storm warning for NYC NE NJ lower Hudson valley, SW CT. Thats big area for a warning. Meanwhile its cloudy 90/78/103
  4. I saw Lee Goldberg basically say the only reason he isnt forecast 100 for the city is because the central park thermometer runs cool. In terms of actual conditions on city streets expect around 100. As for right now here 90/77 HI 104
  5. Working for me, and it also slightly warmer for me on Sat and Sun, 101, and 99 respectively.
  6. The Park managed to get to 90 before dropping a degree at the usual time
  7. Alot of times Central Park is done by 3pm. Those 5pm high temps you see at LGA or EWR sometimes, the park misses out on. I guess the sun angle gets blocked by that point. The inexplicable temp drop usually starts around that time. At 91 here. Up to 8 90+ days.
  8. Whoa..If that ever materialized that'd produce heat indexes near or at 120 for urban NE NJ into NYC.
  9. 75/65 here with smoke/haze. Calm wind. More so than yday. Interesting how much if any effect it'll have on temps. NWS has high of 90. Wonder how much they factor than in.
  10. Yeah didnt expect that. Its hasn't been more than a persistent drizzle and mist here. Dreary but also got us just below 70 for a little while. A brief cool break is ok. Lot of flash flooding down around DC that's where the action is. 3.3" in 1 hr. https://twitter.com/capitalweather/status/1148232536155463680?s=19
  11. JFK had a DP of 79 for a couple hrs. I dunno if they keep records of dew point between hourly obs.
  12. High of 90 here. 6th 90 degree day. Spent the morn, early afternoon at rockaway, missed any storms. same thing in the bx except for a brief shower so far. Water temps at the Rockaways feel great, felt near typical peak warmth today. The forecast scared ppl off which made it even better without the crowds.
  13. Lot of sun from the start, 84 dew 77 heat index 94.
  14. Was there and can confirm that, I was wayy out in mid calf deep water. Later in the day not as dramatic, had to head back closer to shore, didnt want to get stuck out there. I never knew long beach for that so didnt know what to make of it.
  15. They reached 90, that's incredible for them. The record of consecutive 80+ was 4 I believe. Breaking an all time record by 5 is very impressive. Major heat (relative to normal) has been a common theme there. Imagine a high of 111 in the Park.
  16. 92 at home with a high of 93. At Long Beach now, where its feels less hot but more humid. Low 80s or so. Water temps warmed to cold but tolerable range. Big improvement from a couple weeks ago.
  17. If it's any consolation most people get their weather from weather apps on their phone. Most apps just point to the closest official obs station, not holding central park in any special regard. For a large portion of NYC you'll get LGA readings and statistics.
  18. Looking at obs, JFK winds went SW around noon and S by mid afternoon. LGA got to 90.
