  1. up to 68 now, surprising but like stated above, not really.
  2. looks beautiful...sunny, 63
  3. Got up to 61 today before the sea breeze. Now a sunny 49.
  4. Moderate wet snow/sleet/rain, 36.
  5. Light snow, 37 (non aclumating of course)
  6. Warm for the moment..Mostly sunny, 72 dew 61
  7. Yeah, perhaps that will be the last (for the city). Around freezing isnt so bad. keep the 20s to the N&W. If theres gonna be a hard freeze at this point let it be for something historic.
  8. Yeah, I don't care to see any freezing temps going forward, esp down into the 20s. Growing season has progressed too far.
  9. Got up to 60 today, slighty warmer than expected. I see some Cherry blossoms and such really starting to open now..a few got a Feb head start. "Spring leaf out continues to spread up the middle of the country, three weeks earlier than a long-term average (1981-2010) in some locations. Washington, DC and New York City are 24 days early. Philadelphia, PA is 16 days early and Little Rock, AR is 9 days early.." https://www.usanpn.org/news/spring
  10. Moderate snow earlier this evening in lower Manhattan..if you're up around the top half of WTC. Rain at street level.
  11. Temps taking off, low of 50, now 60 under hazy sunshine.
  12. I was hoping it wouldn't. We came this far, lets just get the record..reminds me of the late March snowfall in 1998, preventing it from least snowest season ever. March sun made quick work of those 5" too. I saw some flurries while in New Rochelle today. First snowflake I've seen this month anywhere Ive been. Took a leap yr to squeeze out a flake.
  13. I believe LGA, JFK and ISP still have 0.0" snow for the month of Feb. If they make it through the day without a flurry, itd be the first Feb without even a trace of snow for those sites.
  14. High of 63, now 58. but I see those 40s in southern queens, SI etc.
  15. Except for the bone dry air. The very low humidity still leave a hint of winter feel. Dewpoint in single digits will do that. A very nice day nonetheless. More signs of spring poping up today too.
  16. 39 here, but good radiational cooling overnight elsewhere. 6am: NYC 40, JFK 30, Teterboro 26, White Plains 27, Farmingdale 27, Morristown 19, Islip 26.
  17. Just walking around lately I've noticed those popping out the soil in random patches last week or so. Now I know im not losing it. Seems most nights stay above freezing this winter so makes sense. That forecast in the teens end of the week is gonna feel brutal if it verfies. I know this winter making me soft when upper 20s feels like an artic outbreak.
  18. I was watching vid of that earlier. Thats pretty wild..in Feb?? Theres never been never been more than one tornado on a met winter day in that region, and thats rare enough.
  19. First time I saw a snow blower was after the great winter of 1995-96. Until then it seemed laughable to invest in one (in/near the city) unless you owned some massive plot of land. It wasn't something that really entered in most peoples mind. After 95-96 I notice a few people buy them, only to largely sit idle for the rest of the decade. The then unprecedented 4 straight 40"+ winters in NYC arrived in the 2000s and brought them back out...if you still had it. Winters like this one I learn to take in stride. I got to experience snow amounts and frequency beyond what I ever thought possible in the city and coast during the 2000s to now. The duds are a reminder that consistently getting a parade of significant snow is not a given, and hasn't always been the case. Even last winter, for all the complaints, ended up nearly 80% of normal ( at NYC). That seems well within the expected range from year to year.
  20. Anybody notice the air look disgusting today? At least a layer above the surface but below the tops of the tallest bldgs, i.e. 1 WTC.
  21. After a 30 min train ride from bx to midtown its mainly sleet on 34 St. Dont know if it made it further uptown.
