  1. ABC changed their predictions, more bullish like NWS for in and around NYC. 12"-18" cutting through the middle of NYC including Manhattan, Western Qns, Bronx (tad less perhaps right on the Sound) 6"-12" SI, BK, most of Queens and then down from there.
  2. Just went to mostly wet snow while driving out of New Rochelle along the Sound into the Bronx
  3. 36, mainly flurries, occasional light snow. Looks like steady snow south of 125 St and into Qns/BK
  4. Yeah me too. I wish this was forecasted. Would of changed everything if ppl could of planned ahead. I still give thanks for a great afternoon . Saw a good amount of people out riding bikes etc..
  5. Mostly cloudy with a few breaks of sun most of the morn..now just partly sunny..up to 66.
  6. Rain looks mostly done already. Just an occasional shower left. Or should I excpect areas to the west to fill in?
  7. 35 after a low of 32. coldest of season so far, 1st freeze
  8. I think the NWS didn't consider that night sufficient enough to end the growing season throughout the 5 boros. Just touching 32 for a few mins deep in Central Park while the sun is coming up didn't do much harm overall in NYC. Staten Island and a few isolated neighborhoods elsewhere being the exception.
  9. Some light rain and 47. Flurries/snow showers N&W of I-287?
  10. Freeze watch for NYC...except for Staten Island and their suburban like overnights. Bye to the growing season. Still have a few plants holding on. FREEZE WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING... * WHAT...Temperatures around freezing possible. * WHERE...New York (Manhattan), Bronx, Kings (Brooklyn), Northern Queens and Southern Queens Counties. * WHEN...From late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning. * IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above- ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
  11. A warm thanksgiving wouldn't be a bad thing. People will congregate together despite whatever rules are set. The more that can be outdoors the better. Another 70 degree Christmas might be needed too.
  12. Brooklyn College..near the last stop on the 2 train at Flatbush & Nostrand Ave. All the NYC mesonets are on CUNY campuses.
  13. Tornado warning blaring on every phone here. Bergen county, NJ, Manhattan, Bronx, Southern Westchester..
  14. 77 after high of 79. Sunny but hazy. Foilage the last several days has been some of the best I ever seen within NYC.
  15. Air quality is bad. Air quality alert...and not just the more common "unhealthy for sensitive groups" level, but Unhealthy for everyone. Otherwise..sunny 76, calm wind
  16. Yeah Ive noticed the range of low temps has been big and not just the usual radational cooling spread. NYC and LGA mornings will be around 60, but even close, fairly urban sites like EWR are in the 40s.
  17. Had a high of 76..low was 57. Perfect day Now 72, parties in the street continue into the night Peak foliage here now too.
  18. 33. Can't remember an Oct low so cold besides the oct snowstorm got to 34. Peppers and some remaining tomatoes look unaffected. Central Park is currently 32, an Oct freeze technically. LGA 36, JFK 33, EWR 32.
  19. Its possible to see some snowflakes mix in but its not snowing to the extent radar is showing
