  1. Any idea when this will become apparent? I'm guessing we have to wait until the storm is unfolding to know for sure??
  2. Are you speaking about the strength of the high pressure or the surface temperatures? I’ve noticed the high trending stronger on the gfs. It’s not in perfect position to funnel the cold in, but we usually see the surface temperatures trend down in the days leading up to CAD events. I’d love to hear Lookout’s thoughts too. He knows his CAD!
  3. The GFS suite was encouraging. Let's see what the EPS has to say here in a few minutes. Hopefully they will be further south than the op for those outside the mountains. Those temps were torching!
  4. Being 5 miles south of I-85 really sucks! The next time I move, I'm going just north of I-40!
  5. If someone gets a nice layer of sleet, the event could prove to be more impactful for travel.
  6. Sref plumes are out. Triad locations took a big jump and almost doubled from the two inch range previously to the four inch range now.
  7. Not me. What do think the Triad region will end up with? I'm guess 1-3 from SE to NW. I don't think the weather service is going to budge until they get obs of accumulating snow in the area. It's hard not to think that heavy rates will allow it to accumulate somewhere in the area and that dusting to 1/2 they are calling for will bust. (I THINK)
  8. When the New York forum says it's inside the benchmark, those of us outside the mountains and N. Foothills are out.
  9. I'm feeling lucky I got my yearly 5-6 inch snow/sleet storm. At least I will get part of my spring break this year.
  10. 12z GFS: 850's stay below zero for 8 dry days in a row...then it warms up and rains!
  11. That's like blending fish into your milkshake. YUCK!
