The only thing I hooked this week in New Hampshire was my finger. Through the edge and under a nail. Still makes me queasy thinking about using the pliers to remove it.
I’m drinking a Gunner’s Daughter Milk Stout from Mast Landing from nearby Portland, Maine.
Also did an awesome hike along the Franconia Ridge yesterday. So amazing.
Defeated. A few stragglers visiting yesterday, but they seemed to have moved on. The swelling in my wrist and hand has subsided enough this morning that I can see knuckles and almost make a fist. I think I probably can fit in my watch again too.
Thanks for the tip. I’ll try to remember that the next time I feel like the top of my hand is on fire and then see a wasp trying to bore a hole through me.
I haven't looked but I'm right around that amount too. I wish we had gotten more, but the next few days should feel pretty good for late July and early August.
Enjoying the beer talk while nursing my major injury and drinking my self-prescribed medication, just wanted to share my recent purchases from Lighthouse Liquors in Canton. Fabulous place, by the way.
The beers were chosen in preparation for the fire pit this fall.
I just bundled up and shot up the nest with a whole can. I’ll hit them again tomorrow to be sure. My hand isn’t too bad now, and nothing that this beer won’t cure!
Damn. That’s crazy. I’m in the parking lot of target now after getting a can of hornet killer. Scroll up and see my edit regarding my allergic reaction to these f#ckers.
I don’t know. Two were on hand stinging me and I was just swatting like a mofo. And running.
Black and white stripe?
eta: I just looked them up. Yep. That’s them. Hand is swelling but I don’t think it will be as bad as last time. This was a few years ago when I got stung bare-handed. Compare to other hand.
As I went to bed last night, there was a storm just west of here that somehow died on my doorstep and redeveloped just to the north. I ended up with .05” and no other rain in the past ten days. But I’m at 2.60” for the month so I’ll be fine if I get something today.
