  1. A buddy and I did the Civil War Metric Century bike ride this morning. Just a beautiful morning, great roads, and well run event.
  2. That happens relatively frequently. @MN Transplantmentioned sun spike, and when I last saw what you’re seeing now, it made sense. But I think it’s a little late for a sun spike, but I don’t know. All I know is that the one on radar now is the same location as others I’ve seen.
  3. A little late, but maybe things are about to get real.
  4. Severe thunderstorm watch for DC metro, west to the Blue Ridge, and north.
  5. If this morning’s forecast had been a winter storm forecast, this place would be unreadable right now.
  6. Like most everyone else here, I’m winter-centric, but gd, I’m so glad summer heat looks to be over and we can enjoy some decent weather. I’d take days like this for the next two months.
  7. You know this, but it’s only a theorem if it’s been proven. That statement is a hypothesis, and I bet some would wager that it isn’t even an educated guess.
  8. Yeah. The first time I tried to view it, I pressed the photo and not the link. Maybe I didn’t need to spy on my mom.
  9. Same. edit: I signed into my mom’s account to watch. Wow!
  10. Good god. @jonjon gets a frost on September 3rd, and meanwhile, we won’t know the results of the yet to be posted first freeze contest until around Thanksgiving at the earliest.
  11. 5.27” here for August, and your temperature extremes would make me think it wasn’t a bad month at all. But we all know the truth… BALTIMORE MD...BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL THURGOOD MARSHALL AIRPORT...THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE IN AUGUST 2021 WAS WELL ABOVE NORMAL. IT WAS THE 5TH WARMEST AUGUST ON RECORD. IT WAS THE WARMEST AUGUST SINCE 1995, WHEN THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 80.1 DEGREES.
  12. AACPS never sent out word to its employees. They never closed early. As far as I know, a lot of them were in the building.
  13. Reports that South River HS had damage too, though mostly outbuildings.
  14. Good thing AACPS students are not in classes yet. Southern High School…
  15. Fortunately, AACPS students aren’t in school yet, but they JUST canceled school sponsored evening activities.
  16. Whiff. Grab the kids and go check it out.
  17. I’d be shocked if you don’t get a watch, and mildly surprised if the area doesn’t get a warning at some point today. But I’m still weenie-ing.
  18. Seeing all the action down in southwestern VA, I’m a little surprised to see the center of Ida still down and back along the TN / GA border. That suggests to me that somewhere in these parts is going to get clobbered tomorrow. Though I might just be weenie-ing.
  19. Hopefully you’re going somewhere cool and dry! Have a safe trip.
  20. The thing that excites me the most about that discussion is where they say gusty north winds and below normal temperatures.
  21. The eye may pass right over this camera in Houma, LA. https://www.htv10.tv/livestream
