    Ten days after and I drove past an open (no cover) golf course today, and it’s still 100% covered. That’s remarkable for the last 25 years, including some of the big blizzards.

    I’ve done Old Rag at least ten times. I’ll let you know when I go though I doubt it will be before the permit season starts March 1. It also always includes a trip to the Coppet Fox distillery in Sperryville.

    My south facing roof is still snow covered, so I’m pretty pleased with the attic insulation.

    I had to take my mom to an appointment and there are major 3-lane roads in Bowie that are still a single lane, and there’s no way to move the piles on the other two lanes without a front loader.

    I did a full moon cemetery walk last night. I only took my gloves off a couple of times because it was so blustery and cold.

    I’m happy with the possibility of a couple of minor refreshers this week, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see something more substantial pop up as we get closer to when the current pattern starts to relax.

    Science: Road salt doesn’t work well below 15 degrees. NWS: Tonight’s low will be 3. Tomorrow’s high will be 12. DOT: We should put down more salt. On topic, I’d gladly take a 2” powder coating on Wednesday.

    I thought that 1979 leading up to PD1 was colder, but I guess not. Also thought 1977 was in the mix too.
