  1. I’ve got a shrill cricket somewhere in the house and I can’t find it. Driving me crazy.
  2. It can snow when the overall indices aren’t in our favor, not to mention that it’s still August. Let it play out.
  3. I’ve loved the last 24 hours of weather. Sitting under cover yesterday watching rain fall, and then picked up .45” here at home with great sleeping weather. Feels a little like fall.
  4. I had to travel to Harper Ferry’s Brewery to get rain. So pleasant.
  5. I’ll be taking advantage of the cloud cover and joining you. My backyard is getting powdery.
  6. Direct link to that useless map ... http://www.wxcaster.com/cfsv2_charts1.htm Here's the more useful site but change the locations to KBWI or... http://www.wxcaster.com/models_text.htm
  7. I’d like to get an early start on aerating and seeding this year, but I can’t get good plugs from aerating until the ground is good and wet. it’s not a big deal if I have to wait, but I have a few biggish projects this fall, so earlier is better. Regardless, its a beautiful evening with cool temps, low dews, and plenty of whiskey. Cheers!
  8. I know a lot of the forum has had a lot, and even too much rain, but I think I can speak for the northern areas that we need it.
  9. Beautiful morning got me looking ahead. Plenty of time to get a few adjustments in our favor.
  10. The sky is on fire on Seneca Lake.
  11. And I’m not there to enjoy it! Having a sunset beer at our favorite spot on Seneca Lake. Two Goats Brewery.
  12. Looks like you might be okay. I’m still not liking the chances up my way. Could be close.
  13. I’d be happy with a storm that dropped enough to be able to do some xc skiing at local golf courses. And if it stuck around for a few days to ski the same tracks, all the better. It’s been awhile.
  14. I posted the snowmobile forecast a couple of pages back that looked promising. I believe in it.
  15. The front moved through Watkins Glen this morning with some rain showers, so we stayed in the tent reading and napping. By 10AM, rain stopped, breeze kicked up, and dews dropped. It’s been a glorious day here around Seneca Lake, NY, with a high of 73.
  16. I spent a few summers on a landscaping team, mostly weed whacking. But every once in awhile I’d get lucky and they needed the lesser of the stupid to cut grass so I got behind a gravely on a slide. Great machines.
  17. Sitting on a tractor is not the same as us peasants cutting the grass. Just messing with you.
  18. I think @StormchaserChuck! assumes we know what he means. The folks from the original board probably do. Back then Chuck was doing some “research” and I remember him being very-well respected. Not that he isn’t now in some circles, but for a clown like me, I would welcome some dumbing-down rhetoric in his posts. Particularly when he posts a lot of maps without explanation.
  19. After all my complaining yesterday, I’ll end up flooding today.
