  1. Ben Gardner was an old man. Should he have died? Think about that for a minute.
  2. The flu has the same problem. You can’t have it both ways. That’s why I’ll never put on a life jacket again.
  3. If only you had been on the beach that early July day. Pippet and Alex Kitner may still be alive.
  4. Jaws and the covid response have so much in common that I could do this all day,
  5. I feel confident that regardless of how any of this all’s turn out, our president will somehow find a way to claim victory. Make sure we get a picture for the paper even though the radius isn’t quite right.
  6. There is one of those loud minorities gathered in Annapolis right now. It sounds like Harbormaster Frank Silva’s marina the day they all went out fishing. https://www.facebook.com/arundelpatriot/
  7. ** playing solitaire on the deck **
  8. How far off are widely available antibody tests?
  9. I think and hope you’re right. But as Phin implied, there is another group that’s waiting for others to lead the way. Unfortunately, the lag from when the minority might go out to when they would be sick could lead to false hope for the lemmings. I mean, although Larry’s friend was the first into the water after they reopened the beaches, he wasn’t hurt, other than being roughed up on the frantic exit from the ocean. The real loss was Pippet.
  10. Some people, for sure. But I think there are an equal number of folks (me included) that aren’t willing to risk it anytime soon. I’m not afraid of getting it and not recovering, but I don’t want to be someone that gets someone else sick that can’t recover. We can still save August.
  11. What bar? The sandbar? Ben Gardner’s place?
  12. No doubt. I was just watching them clear the beaches and It it’s pretty difficult to practice safe social distancing when everyone gets funneled into a dune crossing.
  13. Regarding the beaches in the Jacksonville area, I read that they are open from 6-11AM and again from 5-8 PM. You must also always be moving. No groups larger than 10. No chairs, coolers, sunbathing, etc. I still don’t think it’s a good idea. Not yet.
  14. 10:30AM on a cloudy day in Jacksonville. Shark in the pond.
  15. I’d argue that they didn’t close too late. If we want to find out, open her up and let’s see if that little Alex Kitner kid gets spilled out all over the pier.
  16. If we had gone about the usual business, hospitals across the country would have been completely overwhelmed. I don’t disagree that the virus has to run its course, but we don’t need to open up a smorgasbord. (Goal for the day: make a Jaws reference in as many posts as I can)
  17. I’m a big fan of teaching with colors.
  18. I had SSP’s that looked like that when I was a kid. My brother always liked the the rocket shaped ones, but I went for the boxy muscle look. His always beat mine in a race, but his favorite one got crushed by a school bus when he tried to go under it as it passed by, so I guess I ultimately won. i definitely had this one...
  19. If you have ten minutes, this is worth reading. Pretty sad. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-52311877
  20. My sideburns are coming in pretty well now. How do I know? My girlfriend hates them. Good times.
  21. I'm not sure if I should take this literally or not, but I like it.
  22. So far, I think it’s just Jacksonville. But like the mayor of shark city in Jaws said, if we don’t open our beaches, the $ goes somewhere else. Many will follow suit.
  23. Duh. They are vacationing. And then they can go back home and give the ultimate gift to all their friends.
