    Started the day in Dolly Sods and temps in the low 50’s. Finished our circuit and stopped into Cushwa where it was upper 80’s with a nice breeze, so not bad at all in the shade of the umbrella. Home now and not terrible but nice to have the AC on and the windows closed. Cicadas are getting loud.

    Pulsing waves of their song here but still not as loud or crazy as 2004. Hoping it keeps escalating.

    Beautiful out right now. Also I forgot to mention that I saw the first (and only, so far) lightning bug this week.

    Yeah, my yard is relatively quiet still, but the tree directly across the street is teeming with them. The ground is starting to take on that “it’s moving” look.

    The gas line fire near here is crazy. How can something like that continue for over 90 minutes? I would have thought there would be a way to shut that off quickly.
