  1. Seriously? Very cool. Yep. You’re right! Sun spike!
  2. Time sensitive but what the heck is the radar picking up heading towards DC? Straight trajectory from the ESE. Mostly kidding but what causes that? Also oops for initially putting this in the wrong thread.
  3. Had a beer and a Manhattan, and watched Dr. Strangelove. Such a good movie! Now I’m watching Kubrick’s first film, “Fear and Desire.” And splitting a beer with S. Snow and a slushy coating trying.
  4. Mostly snow here and the rates are lame which bodes well for if rates pick up.
  5. Lol. I’ve got a 4-pack of that. Well, now it’s a 3 pack. By the way, I like that Ten Eyck uses cardboard 4 pack holders instead of the normal plastic. Ideally, everyone should return their plastic four pack holders to the brewery like the customers do up at @jonjon’s brewery in Davis.

  7. I’m an expert sourdough taster. Let me know when you need me there!
  8. I’m at around 17” and Mappy around 30”, I think. If half my sleet had been snow, I’d be above climo. Not a bad winter, but I feel like we missed an opportunity when the pattern flipped recently. Someone smarter than me can comment (almost anyone, I’m sure) but I think we often score when a persistent -nao flips positive, but we couldn’t get it done this year.
  9. They are becoming one of my favorites very quickly.
  10. I’ve never seen or even heard of them. I’ll keep an eye out!
  11. Definitely something dark. And very, very strong.
  12. Today is my first day back to my job site and though I never got too down during the past year (I think I'm made for outdoor drinking), I had a sense of optimism on the way in this morning that we've turned a corner. I won't have many students returning next week, but I'm looking forward to seeing and interacting with the ones that do. Hopefully, the dosages continue to ramp up and we can move on past 1C soon.
  13. My cat likes the regular every year cicada, so this year will be a smorgasbord for her. In 2004, I had just bought my old house and started renovating it that spring. I didn't have AC yet and the sound from first light to evening was piercing. We got the addition closed in by mid June and I had to shop vac about three inches of dead cicadas out of my new crawl space. I can't wait for this year's brood.
  14. It's so good to hear so many people are able to get the vaccine. Hopefully this is the beginning of a faster rollout.
  15. We were able to score three out of four for our parents. We could have gone four for four but my 90 year dad old doesn’t want the vaccine. Who am I to argue with a guy that smoked two packs of unfiltered Lucky Strikes for 60 years? If you want to have some fun with the 17 year cicadas, trick a buddy into helping you do a fictitious project that involves a circular saw. I swear they will swarm the sound like it’s the mother of all cicadas. I thought the guy working on my house 17 years ago was going to kill himself swinging the circular saw around in the air to keep the bugs off of him.
  16. Still sleet here. Must be some cold wrapped up in the end. Send it this way, please.
  17. Steady snow. The radar looks great.
  18. WWA's extended to include 95. edit: Up to 95.
  19. That's been the obs here since the pandemic started.
