  1. Loudest day here so far. Starting to see some flyers but not many yet. In 2004, we were doing renovation work here and I learned that the high pitch of a circular saw must sound like a cicada in heat. They swarmed whenever it got turned on.
  2. Over an inch in the past few days here, and the point and click says another 1.25 - 2.5” by Saturday morning. Can a mod lock the drought thread before @WxUSAF trolls us again?
  3. Picked up a much needed .97”.
  4. Direct hit of heavy rain. Thunder and gusty winds too.
  5. About a tenth here accompanied by a brief gust of wind.
  6. At present, the line looks good for my area, but I always worry about weird stuff happening as it approaches the corn corridor. Anyone want to explain what the south-north movement on radar along I-97 might be?
  7. I was right there with you. I was hoping they wouldn’t be sellers this year, but hopefully they can cash in on Means in July.
  8. Yep! Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing that.
  9. Just saw the most incredible shooting “star” in the southeast sky!
  10. Don’t get too cocky. I think they are older than you.
  11. I feel fortunate to have picked up .18” today so far.
  12. Doesn't seem to right to have a muscle car discussion without @losetoa6 here.
  13. Did you check the unit outside to see if there was something blocking the fan? I had a stick wedged in mine one year that messed it up. Also, if it has a condensate pump, you may want to check that. If it gets clogged (or isn't plugged in...yeah, I've done that), it will shut down the unit. If it keeps acting up and you have trouble getting someone out there in a reasonable time frame, I have a reliable and very fair HVAC guy. If you're interested, drop me a PM and I'll pass along his information. Thread related, getting a nice shower in Ellicott City now, and I'm hoping that the stuff behind it stays together to give home a good soaking.
  14. Bruins skating circles around us.
  15. Started the day in Dolly Sods and temps in the low 50’s. Finished our circuit and stopped into Cushwa where it was upper 80’s with a nice breeze, so not bad at all in the shade of the umbrella. Home now and not terrible but nice to have the AC on and the windows closed. Cicadas are getting loud.
  16. Pulsing waves of their song here but still not as loud or crazy as 2004. Hoping it keeps escalating.
  17. Some old peeps in this joint. Glad that I'm not one of them. Happy Bday @H2O.
  18. Beautiful out right now. Also I forgot to mention that I saw the first (and only, so far) lightning bug this week.
  19. Multiply that by at least 10 and it'll be what you hear next week. I remember it coming in waves.
  20. Code orange in May? https://forecast.weather.gov/wwamap/wwatxtget.php?cwa=lwx&wwa=air quality alert
  21. Why do they call them the Smokies?
  22. I wish someone would tell me for the 20th time how long it’s been since Samsonov played and how difficult it’s going to be.
  23. Early game too (@6:30). I’m glad I checked.
