    The Keewenaw is having a great winter with more on the way. 300+ Inches in Keewenaw That is one place that is pretty reliable for snowfall each year.

    Looks to be a windy day tomorrow. Lots of wind warnings out there with gusts to 60MPH. There are going to be lots of power outages if that happens.

    From 8 to 40+ inches in just 3 counties in Michigan. Talk about a steep gradient.

    Hard to knock a winter that started in late November and will finish with over 90" inches of snow, but having winter completely disappear after early to mid February along with the 3 complete melt offs in early December, Christmas, and early January take me from what would have been a A/A+ to an A-.

    As soon as I saw 0z gfs I knew this wasn't going to end well.

    Living in a very agricultural heavy area myself and many fruit growers would say please no.

    Either there or NW Washington near Mt. Baker where they have to world record single season snow fall of 1140". Come to think of it, any of the higher mountain areas of the west coast would probably satisfy your criteria.

    If I recall correctly they didn't work out so well for February did they? I thought they were forecasting cold, not warmth.

    I'm not saying it hasn't been dry overall for the last several months, but you can't say that about January. I would question your dry low water content claim by saying even if the ratios were high we still ended January with a decent amount of water equivalent precipitation.

    What is your total in the Battle Creek area so far? I am west of Grand Rapids and we are around 80" so far.

    Never a good sign when only the Canadian and ICON are on your side. All of the other models are way south. Don't they say a blind squirrel sometimes finds a nut....

    18z GFS hits Michigan pretty good around hour 240. Nice to at least see something with decent QPF in the area. LES is great but it would be nice to see a big one at least once this winter.

    Grand Rapids was 20.2F (-4.6F), precip 3.76" (+1.24"), and snowfall 39.4" ("16.8"). Lake Michigan and the frequent LES certainly helped with the monthly precip and snowfall departures.

    16 straight days of snow at GRR and 24 of the first 29 have had precipitation. Helping ease the drought conditions a little bit this month.

    Those bands passing through off Lake Michigan are no joke this morning. Less than 1/8 mile visibility when they move through and the wind makes it even worse with the blowing snow.

    Getting close to 70" here. Hoping I can crack 100" but that will probably be a tall task. Nice to see you have been cashing in on this pattern also.

    It is the single day thing. Several storms span midnight so you would have to look at multi-day to get the full picture.

    Not quite as cold as it could have been but impressive nonetheless.

    I'm a little closer to the lake and clouds held my temperature up to only -8 last night.

    Several models predicting near or tying the all time record low of -24°F at GRR Saturday morning. It will be interesting to see how cold it really gets. HRRR RAP Euro ICON

    As a former Ohioan this is what you hope for and rarely get. Enjoy it!

    Yes, I am not thinking they will break the record but it will certainly get cold. The Euro has backed down a little as of 0Z bue most models seem to be thinking -15°F to -18°F which would for sure set some records. The morning AFD said at least one model gave a 40% chance of -20°F.
