Second time in less than a week that gusty south winds torched me. Hopefully Mother Nature is getting this shit out of the way now so we can settle into a long cold winter.

Yeah, once those south winds start roaring I torch here big time.

Temp went from 40 to 57 in 20 mins. South winds gusting to 25, getting downsloped hard.

Move north.

Yeah, makes sense that would torch Alex's area on an east wind.

Now, just as an interesting data point, I am 38 right now and Alex is 54. LOL Looks like winds are still mostly out of the east which is not a torch direction for me.

IIRC, the December 5th storm last season hosed you guys, right? I got about 15" or so of heavy cement from that which jumpstarted the pack here (until Grinch). No big storms here yet. 5.5" on Black Friday and 5" this past Wed. The Black Friday event was all upslope fluff here. I basically missed entirely on the synoptic portion that gave Alex 8" or so (I think that was his total). So it just didn't hold up when some warmth appeared a few days later. That snowfall had some serious staying power down by Alex. It has definitely been torchier here so far this season than last season. No idea why. Snow has been getting vaporized very fast here. No complaints, though. Over 20" so far which is more or less on track. Snow has been in the air quite frequently. Only second season here so I am still learning which events torch me and which events I stay colder/snowier than most others. It can be very different than Alex, PF, and your spot.

Yep, we are just about wiped out here again. Clean slate yet again. At least there is nothing left for the cutters and warmth next week to take. Been a lousy season for holding pack so far. Things look to change on the 18th.

You seem to be the exact opposite of most older folks I know. They all wake up really early. LOL Didn't you have to wake up early for years in your medical job? That usually becomes a hard habit to break.

Is Black Mt going to even attempt to get open this season? I see no updates on any opening dates or progress with snowmaking on their website... yet they are willing to sell you a season ticket...

I am definitely waiting for a real arctic outbreak. I remember skiing in NNE back in the day with highs well below zero. Last season and this season so far have not been very cold.
