  1. I mean, it kinda gets to the point of a little frustration. We keep getting teased with these minor snowfalls, but you know the chances of a big dog are remote now and even if one happened it would melt as soon as the sun came up. Meanwhile, my yard is turning into a pretty gross slime pit. Bring on lower 70s and dry, please. I will be ready for a return of this next October. Right around the corner.
  2. Someone needs to just buy that dude a garden hose.
  3. Another dusting this morning. Kinda ready for spring, TBH.
  4. I haven't been to Cannon lately. I figured it was a horror show over there since mid-Feb given the weather. I get enough of that kind of "excitement" these days at Wildcat. Glad you had a decent outing.
  5. The peaks were lit up here all afternoon. Some gorgeous views around the area today. Best is always off my deck though.
  6. The twin cutters in mid-Feb that torched me with 60 degree rain and nuked my 36” pack really soured me on this winter. It was another late start and early end. Still beats a MD winter by a large margin, but I am ready for one of those winters of yore I have heard about where they need to clear roofs and remove snow with construction equipment.
  7. Yeah, snow is always neat but this stuff is just prolonging the inevitable at this point, and as soon as the sun rises it nukes it anyway, even with temps well below freezing. My mud is turning to slush. There isn't enough new snow falling at the ski places over here to make a difference really, sounds like up high in VT there are still some powder stashes to be found in spots.
  8. Looks pretty snowy up top on Adams and Madison. Well-coated above 3500’ or so. I received a wind blown inch here at 1550’.
  9. Headed back to MD soon. They will be floating in pools before long down there. Plants are rapidly blooming! This is getting into the worst time of year in NNE by far. My yard is a complete swamp. It'll be better by early June.
  10. A few wet flakes have mixed in here it appears.
  11. But one month of dry and the usual suspects will be out crying drought.
  12. We all know the biggest alleged "dew lovers" here also seem to be big AC fans. Funny how that works. LOL
  13. Still some cold air lurking and perhaps snow chances, but the mud is here in force, which means it's time for the NNE warm season thread. Mountain peaks coated in white and old Subarus stuck in rutted mud holes means Spring is here. Get in here for NNE warmth talk, but don't plant those veggies just yet. Let's hope for seasonable warmth, dry, and some decent thunderstorm action. Always fun to see those roll in over the mountains. Here's to good nights on the deck with friends enjoying a beer and the fire pit with a slight chill in the air. NNE summer.
  14. Agreed. It was just a neat surprise in a sea of warmth and rain.
  15. Yeah I’m in spring mode. I will start the warm season thread tonight.
  16. 7:30 and still some light out there!
  17. Almost went there again today but figured I would give the ‘cat one last day. I bet it was good there too.
  18. Real special late season event in VT for sure. The pics from you and PF tell the tale for sure. Nothing “fake” about it.
  19. Probably final day at Wildcat for the season but it was a good one. Until next winter, Wildcat! Hopefully we get more snow early for a change.
  20. Fantastic conditions at Wildcat today. I almost didn’t come out, but man was it good. Firm and fast just the way I like it. Last hurrah of the season I suspect.
  21. What do you get with the spring pass? Skiing is getting rather expensive. I’ve learned that very few people up here north of the Whites actually ski, to my surprise. They all ride used snow machines instead. Price must have something to do with it. It’s become a very expensive sport.
