  1. Even my house on the DE shore in redneck meth central only lost power from this for 4 hours or so. LOL CT.
  2. In fairness, when you started posting here, you always shit on every threat and loved doing drive-by trolling when optimism was high. You used to end up running away with your tail between your legs because it actually used to snow sometimes back then. These days, your pessimism is the best bet and means you make good calls. If 2009-2010 ever makes a return you will go back to busting every week.
  3. He should go back on the juice for one more big run and then retire.
  4. DC climate has shifted. It’s somewhere between RIC and RDU now. You are probably more like a closer-in Baltimore suburb. Time to calibrate expectations.
  5. 97% chance your winter in DC will be terrible. Why even bother tracking it?
  6. What you SNE guys view as "nice summer weather" is very strange to me.
  7. Yeah, it probably happens with some regularity in mountainous rain forest areas where there is no one around to monitor it. The Mid-Atlantic is not the actual hotspot for this stuff. LOL
  8. That certainly sounds like a mother hen Cuomo thing to do. No idea how people in NY stand him and DeBlasio dictating their every move. Big city life, I guess.
  9. It seems like true "bars" like in the old school that serve only alcohol are pretty rare. They all seem to serve food now. I wonder if this might affect strip clubs more than actual bars at this point.
  10. Third world infrastructure in CT?
  11. Good upslope snow weather?
  12. It'll be interesting to keep comparing stats as we go into fall and winter to see which setups favor which locations for temp drops day to day. My weather station runs pretty close to accurate at least against the CoCoRaHS station up the road. Not questioning anyone's readings, I am new to the area and couldn't imagine such a large variance over like 15 miles at the same elevation. That just doesn't happen in southern areas.
  13. That's true. A 10-12 degrees difference last night from the CoCoRaHS sites seems hard to believe, though. That's a large variance. I am not doubting anyone's readings or integrity. I was at 54 degrees for the low last night at 1,500 ft, so a 10 degree drop from that is impressive.
  14. That low temp seems way out of alignment with other stations around it. It was closer to 54 degrees unless you were in a unique cold pocket.
  15. Well, since fair is fair, if we close the schools and parents have to take on a much larger share of educating their kids (not a bad thing), then let's lower taxes 5% to offset that increase in prices for goods.
  16. I haven't seen many of those loudly calling for schools to remain closed having much to say about those workers at Target or in the warehouses, however. Funny how that is happening...
  17. Plenty of folks packing themselves into poorly ventilated factories and warehouses so we can keep ordering crap online, however.
  18. Imagine being someone who had to stock the shelves at Target every day since March so housewives could browse for bathing suits and blenders having to listen to teachers demand extra special treatment just for them?
  19. The silliest part is that very few people saw this coming, even though it was clear we'd end up here. I was saying in March that all we were doing was kicking the can down the road with the schools. The risk factors will be the same in September as they were in March. It's like a slow-motion train wreck.
  20. Above normal temps, 10" or less of snow in DCA. Adjust accordingly for your area. That's my final call.
  21. Most of the coverage I am seeing relating to COVID is about the schools. That's going to dominate the story well into the fall.
  22. It pretty much fell off the local news in Baltimore from what I am seeing. My MIL watches it every night. They seem to be pivoting to the election now after the long delay. And of course Baltimore's decline into oblivion, which can easily fill a 1 hour broadcast.
  23. Who said it was no big deal? It simply appears that the powers that be have decided news fatigue has set in and Americans are going to simply "accept" 1300 deaths per day. It was inevitable this would happen, since we already accept a certain number of homicide deaths per day, car accident deaths per day, etc. I'm seeing a lot less coverage of the case numbers out there, even less for deaths.
  24. Seems like the news is back to barely covering the COVID "thing." Did that rise in cases in AZ, FL, and TX lead to bodies in the streets? The silence in the media tells me the fear hype never panned out.
