  1. In all seriousness, I would not plant a tulip poplar there. Too close to the house. I am biased against them, but they drop tons of shit, grow rapidly, and sway a lot in the wind. It doesn't take 100 years for them to get to scary height. Could get above your roof in 15 years easily. Why not something smaller like a dogwood or something?
  2. Your neighbor appears to be practicing with Photoshop. LOL
  3. I could see it being fine as a stand-alone shade tree. They provide plenty of shade. They also spread fast. I remember at my old place there would be small trees growing all over the place not mowed every early summer.
  4. I don’t have much experience with them when young. More rural developments in MD tend to have clusters of very tall older specimens because they grow fast and dominate first after the land is returned from being farmland. There are many backyards in central MD that have several trees well over a hundred feet, many of which grew at dangerous angles to get out from under older trees that shaded them. I swear these damn things are dropping crap all year. They also like to shed branches from way up top that come down like spears and impale in the ground. It’s kind of a despised tree around my old stomping grounds. Also sucks as firewood. I have heard when they are young they can have a nice full look and be more manageable.
  5. We have tons of huge tulip poplars in MD and most folks down here hate them. Just a different perspective.
  6. 63 degrees but 98% humidity this evening... blechh. Worst evening weather in quite some time. The humidity really sucks when you don't have AC.
  7. Nice shot and tired looking pup. LOL
  8. No drought here. Lush and green. The mountains provide.
  9. Pretty nice here today. Touch more humid than the last week. Some more bugs came out and showers around. Temp peaked at 75.
  10. Don’t forget also that the ice melts too fast in the mojitos and waters them down. What a summer!
  11. I think people who ride motorcycles with no helmets in just a shirt and shorts must have a death wish. A rock or other piece of road debris could easily end your life, at the very least you will be maimed.
  12. Tons of people implied that. Many media and political figures came right out and said there is "zero link" between the protests and COVID cases. The political rationale for how these gatherings are covered is pretty clear, and we don't need to hash that out here.
  13. I figured that would be the media narrative. Only certain uncontrolled mass gatherings are deemed “safe.”
  14. How does shit like that happen? We never get stuff like that Super wide angle fisheye lens helps....
  15. There’s a long history of Philly posters coming here pretending that they are in the same boat as DC, but we all know that is total BS. PHL can catch the ass-end of some Miller Bs, whereas DC basically never gets them.
  16. Picked up a quick .30 from a passing storm.
  17. The media better not say the bike rally caused a surge in cases after saying the protests did not. Come on...
  18. It's been beautiful the last several days. Monday: 79/56 Tuesday: 73/53 Wednesday: 67/50 Thursday: 68/49 Today: 75/51 I am definitely not a king radiator, however. LOL I do get some nice breezes and lower high temps here than the lower radiator spots. I am hoping my spot nestled north of the Presidentials will lead to lots of upslope snow. I have already noticed this summer my location seems to always be near the lead in precip in the general area.
  19. Haha, yup. No spot can be perfect, after all.
